D & S Renovations completed my much needed basement renovations due to the floods of 2023. I was able to have open communication on a daily basis. Therefore I knew where the project was at and when to expect trade individuals into my home. They were very flexible with adjustments I requested and let me know of any additional safety issues they discovered along the way. Was able to stay on projected budget which was very important to me. Any deficiencies I questioned were promptly looked into and amended accordingly. I found Majid on Facebook and he was the first to answer with a realistic estimate for Lennox Elite furnace and a heat pump. He came the next day and gave a firm quotation which was hundreds $ (even thousands) less than any other quotation we had had. Work was scheduled for the next week and completed totally satisfactorily in one day. I referred Majid to my neighbour and my son and their work was also done in a week. They are happy and we are happy. I doubt you will find anybody better to do HVAC work, especially at this price.Latest review:- Suzanne is true to the name of her company, a breath of fresh air. She is very thorough and a hard worker! And she is honest!! I had an issue with my coil pan and other companies and HVAC techs would only talk about replacing my entire central unit or replacing the coil. Suzanne showed up and thoroughly examined the issue and stated that there was no need to replace the unit so that was never entertained, She took out the pan that was rusted and had several large holes that were causing leaks when the AC was on. She cleaned it and repaired the holes and also cleaned out the system. My unit has been running beautifully since and I'm going to book her to clean the furnace for the winter season. Laszlo and his team did an excellent job on our full kitchen guy reno and backyard. With lots of surprises as a century home would offer, they tackled the surprises with solutions that were creative and smart. His crew was extremely polite and we had good rapport. KOS was chosen for the reviews and that it had the skills we were looking for but we were v DISAPPOINTED! There were several reasons for this: 1) we were billed for cedar but cedar was not what was installed or was installed only after being challenged. ( He then had the audacity to ask for several hundred dollars more for having used cedar). 2) much of the cedar was a substandard quality 3) the quality of some of the work is substandard -eg wood joins that don’t meet and we’re not filled afterwards 4) big gaps between the installed hardware and built-frame even though we were insistant on maximum privacy ( I, personally, have fixed this problem 5) what should have been a week’s work took a month. Kyren, the owner of KOS, and has all the tools needed, is a nice enough fella but I would NOT hire him again. Pics are available to illustrate the above criticisms.

Wanted to install an AC in my home and eventually settled on a furnace replacement + AC install + energy management device to work within 100A limit of home. Installation went OK, but required some follow-ups to finally meet inspection requirements. Before agreeing to the work I'd asked by email for a specific energy management device to share load between the house and de-energize my EV charger when needed, but resulting install was configured to de-energize the AC unit being installed. Now after 4mo of back-and-forth with Direct Buy Furnace CEO and their sub-contractors, CEO is insisting this was not actually agreed to and that I would have to pay to have the unit reconfigured to my original request and also that I shouldn't need what I'd asked for anyway. About 6 years ago we had Falstaff come and redo the electrical in our 1919 home - I reviewed them at the time saying how fast and well done the job had been. Wanted to follow up on that to say we have continued to use this company for electrical projects and they are always AMAZING to work with. We have recommended them to neighbours who loved their work, used them for a large project at a commercial property and continue to contact them for projects at our house. Multiple times they have provided suggestions (sensor switch instead of moving a switch, etc) that have greatly increased the functionality of the space. Joey from Pioneer came first to assess our needs as the hot water tank sits under a stairwell with a stackable washer/dryer in the same space, that must be pulled out for access. He was able to move everything for us and had the new tank properly installed with strapping and expansion tank in very reasonable time. He also fixed 2 issues we had with the main water shut off and made a good suggestion about replacing the older style hoses on our washer.
