D & S Renovations completed my much needed basement renovations due to the floods of 2023. I was able to have open communication on a daily basis. Therefore I knew where the project was at and when to expect trade individuals into my home. They were very flexible with adjustments I requested and let me know of any additional safety issues they discovered along the way. Was able to stay on projected budget which was very important to me. Any deficiencies I questioned were promptly looked into and amended accordingly. Enbridge needed to replace my meter and they noticed that the original line going into the house was below grade, thus not up to code. I was given a week to fix it before they would shut off my gas. I reached out and Madina reached out to me very quickly. After sending a few pictures of the area, I was given a very reasonable quote to do the work. They came a few days later and started to work on the project. They explained everything they needed to do and I think they ended up doing more than they expected. After drilling a new line into the house and connected everything, they did their pressure test and found the pressure was dropping. They re-inspected everything and found an old connection was leaking, which they also repaired. The quote they gave me was still honored and they had mobile payment machines to settle the bill. A copy of the invoice was emailed to me. If I need any more gas work or HVAC work to be done, I will definitely reach out to them again.Latest review:- Suzanne is true to the name of her company, a breath of fresh air. She is very thorough and a hard worker! And she is honest!! I had an issue with my coil pan and other companies and HVAC techs would only talk about replacing my entire central unit or replacing the coil. Suzanne showed up and thoroughly examined the issue and stated that there was no need to replace the unit so that was never entertained, She took out the pan that was rusted and had several large holes that were causing leaks when the AC was on. She cleaned it and repaired the holes and also cleaned out the system. My unit has been running beautifully since and I'm going to book her to clean the furnace for the winter season. Wanted to install an AC in my home and eventually settled on a furnace replacement + AC install + energy management device to work within 100A limit of home. Installation went OK, but required some follow-ups to finally meet inspection requirements. Before agreeing to the work I'd asked by email for a specific energy management device to share load between the house and de-energize my EV charger when needed, but resulting install was configured to de-energize the AC unit being installed. Now after 4mo of back-and-forth with Direct Buy Furnace CEO and their sub-contractors, CEO is insisting this was not actually agreed to and that I would have to pay to have the unit reconfigured to my original request and also that I shouldn't need what I'd asked for anyway. Joey from Pioneer came first to assess our needs as the hot water tank sits under a stairwell with a stackable washer/dryer in the same space, that must be pulled out for access. He was able to move everything for us and had the new tank properly installed with strapping and expansion tank in very reasonable time. He also fixed 2 issues we had with the main water shut off and made a good suggestion about replacing the older style hoses on our washer.
