We recently used Master Homes Contracting to renovate two bathrooms. Anton came to the house to discuss the project and offer some advice as to the design aspect of what we were doing. We found him very knowledgeable, he made recommendations as to the layout and gave us a clear idea of what the project would look like when completed. We received a detailed quotation within a few days, numerous options with pricing. With some conversation we were comfortable with the quotation and agreed to move ahead. We were then introduced to Ashley who would be our design contact throughout the project. We had done the usual visits to the home stores and to be honest were a little overwhelmed, we really needed some direction and advice. Ashley made it so easy, she supplied numerous choices, with pricing, for each of the components from tile to taps, and really helped us with every selection, for us, that expertise saved weeks of wandering the aisles trying to figure out what we wanted. Once decided, Ashley ordered everything for us and had it delivered to our house. The crew showed up to start the demo on the agreed date, immediately covered my hardwood hall and stairs to avoid any damage as they removed the debris, they were careful to try to limit the dust as much as possible but by nature its a dusty job. Execution was flawless, we did have to make some decisions as to the waterproofing behind the new shower, Anton gave us three options with and actually recommended the LEAST expensive one for what we needed. We had a vacation planned that happened to fall in the middle of the project. We were so comfortable with Anton and his crew, we gave him a key, they continued working while we were away. The project was completed just as we got back, we were so pleased with the results. Both bathrooms look amazing, certainly exceeding our expectations, they even added undercabinet LED accent lighting, not included in the original quote but they thought we would like it. They were right, it added a whole spa like look to the bathroom. The project was completed a few weeks ago but I held off on my review as I knew there would be some minor call backs, there always are with any reno. The true test of a contractor is how well they handle the call backs. A flickering pot light, a sticky drawer on the vanity, they were there next day, resolved without question, we were very impressed. We did add some extras to the project as it progressed but overall they were on budget per their original quote. As a contractor Master Homes ticked all the boxes. On time, on quote, knew what they were doing, all the assistance we needed, daily updates on the project, immediate attention to the callbacks, and probably the most important factor, Trust. We will use them again for our next project without any hesitation, there are so many horror stories out there it was a pleasure and a relief to find a good honest contractor that goes the extra mile to make sure you are satisfied with the results. It was a great experience working with Krys. We finished our basement to include a full bathroom, office/gym and family room. We had a very strict timeline and the project was completed by our deadline and, importantly, on budget. The various trades people that worked on the basement were professional and they tidied up after themselves. Krys accommodated several last minutes changes to the plans that we wanted and he quickly addressed the few minor issues along the way. Unlike a lot of contractors that want full payment up front, it was a progress-payment schedule that gave us a lot of comfort knowing the project would be completed. Communication was great with Krys and Paulina. Another excellent job by Mike, Michael and crew. They did a partial basement remodel including framing, drywall, electrical, priming of walls and flooring installation of our basement (approximately 1250 sq ft). They also did attic work with installing bathroom vents to the soffit, bathroom fan to our master bathroom and boxing electrical junctions to prepare for blown insulation. They also helped place a support beam for our upstairs balcony to increase safety of the structure. They did a lot of work across our whole home in a timely and professional manner. Mike was able to work with me to coordinate when the insulation crews were going to come in (we had spray foam in the basement and blown in for the attic) and not waste any time between transitions. We've worked with them before and everyone was courteous, respectful of our busy house and kept everything clean after the day was done. I hired PIVOS CONTRACTING, Campbellville, ON in September 2021 to repair damages that had resulted from a flooding in the upper level of my 2-floor condo. My hardwood floors had to be replaced , the ceiling of the lower level had large holes that had to be repaired, and the lower level had to be painted. They quoted me $40,115 + an extra $1,500 for general help guys to move around some of my furniture, as I had moved most of it to a storage facility. His quote didn't include the price of the new hardwood floors, which I have bought by myself. It didn't include painting of any doors in the condo either, as they did not require painting. I PAID ALL WHAT I WAS ASKED FOR, WITHOUT ANY NEGOTIATION, DOWN TO THE LAST PENNY, AND IN A TIMELY MANNER (50% BEFORE THE WORK BEAGAN , 50% RIGHT AFTER IT'S BEEN FINISHED). WHAT I GOT IN RETURN WAS : JACK-OF-ALL-TRADES WORKERS who did everything from floor installation, to dry wall work, to painting, etc. Needless to say, the quality of work was nowhere near what would be expected from a professional hardwood floor installer or a professional dry wall worker or painter. Their work did not meet even the minimum standards, and the final result was: 1. ALL MY NEW HARDWOOD FLOORS (WHICH COSTED ME NEARLY $15,000) WERE SMUDGED WITH THE TOUGH GLUE USED IN THE INSTALLATION. I am not talking about a few spots here and there or even a few dozen spots, but about nearly every square foot of my floors being covered in glue + dust on top of it !!!!! In fact, even the bathroom's ceramic tiles had their share of the damn glue too !!! Repeated attempts by myself and by professional house cleaners failed to remove that stubborn glue off my new floors to any degree. Eventually, I got the brand of the product and called its manufacturer, and asked if they had any solutions. They advised me that the excess glue should have been wiped off the floors instantly at the time of installation, otherwise I should simply forget it !!!!! 2. THE CEILING LOOKED VERY CROOKED, BUMPY, WITH HIGHS AND LOWS ALLOVER RATHER THAN THE PLAIN FLAT SURFACE IT SHOULD BE, as this contractor was too cheap to replace the damaged dry wall panels but rather tried to patch them, and told me that my ceiling will look perfectly fine as such. The actual result was that it looked anything but fine !!! In fact, looking at the garage's ceiling repair that was done by a different contractor, it looked far better than my condo's ceiling !!!! 3. AS FOR THE WALL PAINTING, that was done very carelessly too. I could have done a better job myself !!!! The photos below show the kind of work that has been done in my condo. Upon raising these concerns with the contractor, he was evasive , manipulative, and anything but decent or honest enough to take responsibility for the work his Jack-of-all-trade guys have done. Regarding the glue residue that was left allover my floors, he went thru every possible way to evade responsibility, from pretending he couldn't see it , to acknowledging the problem but claiming it wasn't glue in the first place (!!!!!), to saying that he will send workers to clean it (as a favor) but needs "some space", to asking me to remove all my furniture from the condo again at my expense (costs nearly $5000) so he can do the cleaning etc. etc. of this kind of manipulation. ONE YEAR LATER, he hadn't done anything to at least clean the floors, and that's when I advised him that I will have to hire someone else to do the job that he never finished but he will have to cover the cost. It took me several months to find someone who agreed to take this difficult challenge. The new professional gave me a quote for the job, which I advised this contractor of, but he didn't even bother reply. THE NEW PROFESSIONAL HAD TO CLEAN MY FLOORS MANUALLY, ONE PLANK AT A TIME, WHILE KNEELING ON HIS KNEES, AND INSPECTING FROM DIFFERENT ANGLES. This took him FIVE visits to my home, on two of which he was accompanied by an assistant. When the cleaning job was finally done, approximately 15 months later, he called PIVOS and explained the kind of work that had to be done and the time it took to clean the mess they had left me with. Nevertheless, PIVOS CONTRACTING refused to cover but 50% of the cost of cleaning , and even paid that after weeks of delay !!!!! Looking back at my experience with PIVOS Contracting as a whole, it can be summarized in the following: 1. Sloppy, unprofessional work that could be outdone by amateurs or even hobby workers. 2. Hefty unreasonable prices. This is based on the estimates of honest contractors who assessed my condo; unfortunately they were unavailable to do the work at the time frame it had to be done. 3. Countless hours of my time wasted thanks to manipulation, and silly arguments that did not lead anywhere. 4. Over one full year in delays trying to find a professional who agreed to clean up the epic mess PIVOS Contracting had left me with. During this time my home looked like a zoo or a war zone. This resulted in complete disruption of my life, which took a heavy toll on me, both physically and mentally. 5. I had to pay extra money, on top of the hefty cost I have already paid, to fix their sloppy careless work . BOTTOM LINE, I WOULD NEVER EVER HIRE THIS CONTRACTOR AGAIN OR RECOMMEND HIM, EVEN IF HE OFFERED HIS SERVICES FOR FREE !!!!!!Latest review: - Naafy ContractingCabinet maker in Milton, OntarioRating: 5 out of 5Get in touch

Our project involved stripping our 2-room attic space down to the studs to build a dormer extension with a bathroom, and redo a bedroom, optimizing every inch of space. In executing the work, Nathanael and his team took the time to reinforce studs, beams and joists, taking the time and effort to attend to the subfloor to prevent creaky floors. From structural work, to HVAC/insulation, to the last finishes, no short cuts were ever taken - we truly felt Nathanael and his team cared about the project as though it was their own house. We quickly came to trust Nathanael's judgment and suggestions. No challenge was seen as a problem. Nathanael was always ready with a pragmatic, professional solution at hand that enhanced the design of the project.
