Told us our bathroom renovation would take 6-8 days and it took over 3 months...with constant trade changeovers and others coming in to "look" at the job. Unfortunately we found out too late that they have no trades working directly for them and were told they scour Kijiji to find "help". Two months later and our bathroom ceiling is cracked in multiple areas due to the poor workmanship! Whenever we brought our concerns to the "project manager" he never wrote anything down or used his phone for notes. When he'd show up, if he wasn't trying to upsell us on pointless replacement ideas, he was constantly scrambling, contradicting himself/workers or apologizing. If I had a $1 for every time he would apologize, I'd probably be able to pay for getting the ceiling redone properly! The hilarious thing is that as a kiss up, we were offered 2 free shutters for our troubles and they couldn't even get that right. After the third time to correct we told them to forget it...of course they blamed the shutter company. Please do your homework thoroughly when picking a renovation company!

Ante and his team replaced our eavestroughs (with added gutter guards), soffits, fascia, and downspouts. They also installed aluminum capping to finish off the look and protect our wooden trim. We got quite a few quotes and found Ante was best able to answer our questions clearly and provide recommendations so we could make the best choices for our house. Their quote was itemized and sent over e-mail and fell in the middle range of the quotes we got so we felt comfortable that it was a fair price. They were able to start work quickly and we were happy with the workmanship and final results. Everything was done over two days and they cleaned up all debris and removed our old materials. I liked that it was a multi generational family working together in the business, passing on knowledge and skills from father to son. We've had both rain and snow since the installation and everything has been working great so we are very happy we chose Superior Aluminum.

Before moving into our new house we wanted to have the full house painted including toilets, kitchens and storage areas. Our time was short because we were waiting to receive our household goods from moving companies. So needed something quick. I am glad we found Quick Painting Solutions. They did an excellent job of painting our full house. I feel bad that at the middle of painting days we had to receive our furniture and goods. Which created space issues for the crew. But they were very accommodating, friendly and professional. The crew was very accommodating to our small touch up requests. Whenever we requested them to do small touch ups they worked on those promptly (without any complaints and with a smiling face!!). They even offered us to contact them anytime if there is any issues with the paint and they will fix it. Raman and his Team did an excellent job on our house. Absolutely terrible, the contractor took over seven hours to install my bathroom fan and the company charged me $500 and then he broke the bathroom fan cover when he was leaving. He promised me that he would get a new one and drop it off and I have been chasing him for weeks. I had even given him a $50 tip! Dingwall kept responding that they would drop off the fan cover but then ghosted me after chasing them for weeks. Terrible terrible company.

My first interaction with Andre was very positive, he seemed very knowledgeable and asked questions about the age and history of the home. He also said he only did one project at a time, and didn't start the next one until the previous was complete to our satisfaction. This feeling did not last very long once we had paid the deposit for the renovation. The original scheduled start date was in November. In October we received an email that it was delayed until February. Actual work didn't start until mid March. We agreed at the start of the project that if he needed to stay late if he was going to waste material (like grout or cement). What happened instead was he showed up most days between 10am-1pm and stayed 6-10 hours. Halfway through the project I clarified that I only wanted him in the house between 9-6 and the extra leeway was only for special circumstances. He came on time one day and returned to arriving between 10-1 after that. When demolition started, we was surprised that the walls of the 1930's home were not drywall, and had not heard of rocklathe that the walls were actually made of. He was also surprised the tub was made of cast iron. Both of which he charged more for above the quote price and added 1 week on the 2 week project. Once the bathroom was almost done, I had messaged him to confirm I was able to use the tub which he had tested. Once it drained, I noticed the ceiling below the tub was leaking, the original pipe was held together with epoxy and had come loose from the renovation. Another added cost, and I had to replace my own ceiling, he wanted to charge more and he was behind on the next job. He also moved the bathroom light switch to inside the bathroom, which was also not tested (it turned off all lights upstairs). The light switch move was a line item in the quote and paid for, but when I told him about it he would not entertain fixing the issue. In the end I will need to change this myself, even through I have paid for it and is a line item on the "add-on" quote. Other short nitpicks: - He did not install a shower curtain rod (not specifically called out in the job, but I had assumed that would be included) - Tiles not all flush with the wall, some sticking out - Did not get the tub we wanted, apparently it was out of stock on back order (we paid him the deposit 1 year before the work started) - Shower head was not installed well, o-ring was crushed and was leaking. Luckily I was going to replace with a different head so it was an easy fix The frustrating part is the bathroom itself is well done. If the Andrei and Jessica had just given an accurate quote from the beginning and did the work they said they would it would be a 9-10 star review. They are both very personable and very good hard working people. In the end, I would have been better off with a different company who quoted higher but had explicitly called out the complexity of working on an older home and likely wouldn't have had the surprise cost.

Budget did a complete kitchen renovation which included taking down a wall to expand. For the number of worker that where in the (plumbers, HVAC, electricians, flooring, cupboards and counters, painters......) the timing was perfect and the disruptions to our day to day life were kept to a minimum. The end result was a showcase kitchen on time and on Budget.

Gabe is professional, caring and personable. This was the first renovation that my partner or I had gone through and Gabe set the bar high in terms of quality and service. Our bathroom is a small space and Gabe worked to help us make the most of it by asking the right questions and caring about what we valued. Gabe coordinated third-party vendors for cabinet-making, plumbing and electrical, and worked diligently with his co-worker Avery on the tiling, painting, drywall and many other functions. He and Avery are skilled professionals who made the most of a renovation timeline complicated by the COVID-19 pandemic. Words do not do justice to how satisfied my husband and I were with the entire job done by Paul! Not only was he so incredibly personable, knowledgeable and professional, he did an absolutely amazing job on our kitchen/dining room. I highly recommend Arthur and GoldenShepherd Contracting. We had a sudden shower leak and he was able to give us a very competitively priced estimate, start and end dates, and a detailed plan to prevent future leaks. We were very impressed with his expertise and professionalism during the course of re-tiling a shower and making it more waterproof, repairing a 3x3 ft drywall patch in the ceiling the plumbers had left, and compounding and painting the ceiling and walls. He was able to complete the work on time, stayed within his original estimate and performed excellent quality work. The shower came out stunning and the drywall patch repair was seamless and invisible (can't tell it was ever there). Arthur is a superb general contractor professional who is friendly, transparent, detailed and results oriented. We confidently recommend him for all types of repairs and renovations.
