I hired this company to clean the gutters and add one downspout. The gutters are only 1.5 stories off the ground and about 45 feet in total. I was charged over $500 which I paid. I was home with my very alert dog on the day I was told the gutters were cleaned and I didn’t hear a thing. But I went on their word that they were cleaned. They kept delaying the downspout work over 3 months so I decided to cancel the work. This was in September and I was advised I would be refunded the amount of just over $300. I am still waiting for my refund.

The owner, Moe, noticed one of my siding shingles was missing. I knew it fallen down but I didn't have a ladder tall enough to reach it. Moe offered to do it and when I asked the price he told me it was a simple job and he would do it as a goodwill gesture. It only took a few minutes - everything is easy with the proper equipment - and the shingle was back up and secured properly. I appreciated the gesture and will certainly use his services when I need something more difficult completed.

Alex did a good job at the design (which was not to scale) and all the other contractors were booked so we decided to proceed with Kasty as he was the only one available and we could use the space for the tail end of the 2020 summer. Despite hearing some warning from others that a 27 year old who claims to have lots of experience and an engineering background would be an issue, we proceed with the project. Things started great and was pleased with the team and work however about halfway through the project we noticed things were being rushed and issues were starting to appear. Typical responses like “we stand behind our work” and “everything is covered under warranty” etc. is what we heard. As we approached the end of the project Alex provided the “Final Invoice” and to let him know if we had any questions. We had done a walkthrough of the front and back and made notes of the parts of the job we were not happy with and some areas where we were over charged. Alex was not happy with the list and became very defensive however after lots of back and forth agreed to a take it or leave it offer from Alex in which we agreed to reduce the final price by $2,235 (~1.8% of the total cost). We took the take it or leave it offer and made the payment in full and ensured Alex signed the final invoice confirming it was paid in full and we moved on. Shortly after this is where things changed... There was a rebate promotion with the stone manufacturer which we were trying to claim however the stone manufacturer responded that we did not qualify as our project was not paid in full. After reaching out to Alex we were told “Not going to go over and above for someone who did this to me” and that “He didn’t agree because he was happy about the conversation” and “Like I said you have a 3 year warranty regardless of how I feel. I put the needs of my work before mine”. 2 month later the cedar trees that Alex planted died. I was told there was a warranty with the nursery and if I got the irrigation system that warranty would be extended (which I did). However, Alex has ignored our requests and those dead cedars have not been replaced. After the winter we noticed lots of cracks, chips and crumbling stone and reached out to the stone manufacturer (as we had a lifetime warranty on the stone). However, received the same response that the contractor (Alex) indicated the project was not paid in full. So finally I escalated the issue to the President of the stone manufacturer and requested an investigation, after providing copies of the emails from Alex and the signed invoice confirming it was paid in full they honored the warranty and also provided me with the rebate that was previously declined. They mentioned they take these matters very seriously and provided a list of approved contractors who would repair the manufacturing defects and the stones that have cracked due to poor workmanship (which is normally not covered). Alex did come by after to see the cracks as he was even surprised how bad the issue was awhen he saw the pics but after some back and forth regarding the quality of the job was told “You can use the money you shorted me to hire someone to fix the work. You wouldn’t want someone who had bad workmanship to fix your yard yea? No one believes a single bad review saying I didn’t honor a warranty, especially when you didn’t pay your bill in full. And I will make sure everyone knows that” which he did in his responses. So I will somewhat agree with his response on the Google Review as we did not pay the “Final Invoice” as we agreed on a “Revised Final Invoice” which was paid in full and signed by Alex. Also, Alex mentioned they did everything they could to keep us happy, so I have uploaded some pictures of what things look like after he tried everything to make us happy (imagine what it looked like before). My expectations for workmanship and quality was much higher for a $130k job. Alex wish you all the best!

I needed some work done to update the basement and some room upstairs. I found it difficult to find a reliable good working contractor that would not leave me in a lurch. I found Ben the Builder. I was pleasantly surprised with his work and work ethic. He listen to what I needed and delivered all at a reasonable price. He called when he knew he would not be able to work. He also provided regular updates as to progress or called if there were any questions or concerns. Good all around jack of all trades.

The experience we had was absolutely terrible! We DO NOT recommend this company. We've spent over $50,000 and still have an incomplete kitchen. We told Dan at Caledon Renovations, from the very beginning, that we needed the renovation completed as quickly as possible to sell and relocate for work. Dan told us that he could complete the work in 4 weeks. On June 3rd, 2024, demolition began on our whole main floor. Once demolition was complete, no one showed up for 2 weeks. We were constantly told there were issues sourcing product, finally, when he showed up with the floor tile, it was not what we had picked but decided to continue anyway to speed up the renovation. It is now August 7th and it still not done. There were several quality issues that were addressed several times and Dan offered to come back to fix these issues for a 3rd time - we declined. The final straw was when we had a subcontractor show up at our house demanding money or he would place a lean on our house. After speaking to this gentleman, we found out that Dan had not paid him and said it was because we owed money - we were paid up to date. When we told Dan we do not want to work with him because of the trouble he has caused, he offered a refund of $1200 for upper kitchen cabinet doors. Even though we were not satisfied with the refund amount, we agreed. We told him to pick up his sign from our home and give us the refund. That was 6 days ago and we've heard nothing from him. We now have to hire another contractor to finish the renovation which is going to cost us more money and time.

Good initial experience with this company in 2009/2010. They got the measurements for 22 windows & sliding patio door very accurate. Crew of 8 guys showed up & cut the old aluminum windows out: and this is where the problems started with fit & sound. There isn't a lot holding the windows in firmly - For the past 6 years its been incredibly noisy with vibrating windows at outside noises. This is a relatively quiet residential area in Newton. Air traffic & cars easily rock the windows. In the last 3 years the planes have started flying directly over us in Newton & it shakes the windows. My neighbours run a noisy party house behind mine - the front picture window vibrates to the ongoing beat of the music as does every other window in the house. Its brutal noise & I am forced to put a headset on to sleep. I visited neighbours living on either side of my house to check on noise levels & sadly there was no noise or very little compared to my window issues. As a result I recently consulted with a couple of window installers about why such nice quality windows were making so much noise - the consensus was that because the old windows were cut out of the house & not carefully removed (22windows removed & replaced in 7.5 hrs by 8 men), & the new windows were most likely not well secured in place upon install hence the vibration with loud noise. Vibration. is caused by poorly secured windows. I am beyond any warranty period I see but would gladly pay an nominal amount to have the windows properly seated & to have quiet restored. There were other issues caused by the speedy install including the patio door not being square set and faulty springs in to vertical slider bedroom windows - can't get them to open more than an inch. Beautiful product but perhaps too quickly installed & now I'm told they no longer cut the old old windows out when installing replacements.

I hired this company to repair my roof and remove a large tree that was growing too close to the house. They were excellent from start to finish. The team arrived on time, assessed everything carefully, and explained the work in a way that was easy to understand. The roof repair was done quickly and with great workmanship. They fixed the damaged shingles, sealed everything properly, and made sure the roof was secure and protected. The tree removal was handled safely and professionally—they took down the branches and trunk without causing any damage, and cleaned up the entire area afterward. I’m really happy with the results. My roof looks solid again, and the yard is clear and safe. Great service, fair pricing, and a very reliable team. Highly recommend them for roofing and tree removal work.
