About Us About Tabitha Matheson STORY BY COLLEEN TOMS Tabitha Matheson remembers when she was first introduced to sewing. “My mother put a sewing machine in my room when I was four,” Tabitha recalled with a laugh. At the time she had no idea how important sewing would become to her life. Now, as a mother herself, Tabitha has put her passion and skills towards opening Picture Perfect Window Coverings and helping local residents upscale the look of their homes with custom window treatments. “I started out 12 years ago in my own basement, sewing for stores and interior designers,” Tabitha said. “I needed a job to help pay the bills. Through word-of-mouth Tabitha grew her business to the point where she “needed to get out of the basement.” After sharing a leased space on King George Road, she began searching for her own space and found a run-down building on Brant Avenue. “A friend drew a picture of the building with lovely window awnings and flower boxes,” Tabitha recalled. “I love taking people’s ideas and running with them, so I made it happen.
