We had a water leak in our basement and the original eaves were leaking at the seam and backing up into our basement. David came out next day for an assessment and advised not a repair but replacement. A quote was done by the next day and we were also advised he had close colour match that could save us $600! Signed up right away and the job installed professionally and carefully by the team of installers. We are moving soon and would definitely go with them for our next project!

We hired David and Cheresh Homes to renovate our 60 year old family cottage - a 3 season dwelling built riverside on top of Canadian Shield rock in Muskoka. This was a 2 year project to renovate and update the property into a 4 season cottage. We also wished to maintain historical and legacy elements they were important to our family. Right from the start, David understood our vision and we felt comfortable with his design ideas and approach. It was important to us that he had the design build experience and expertise as a contractor to support this kind of large scale project. His pride of workmanship, creativity, attention to detail and strong relationships with local trades and contractors gave us the confidence that he was the right choice. He had genuine interest and excitement in our project and we felt immediate trust in him to make it happen. This was an extensive renovation project, taking place during the pandemic, which presented its own set of challenges. David and his team rose to the challenge and they handled our project professionally and with care. His crew and contractor tradespeople were respectful, friendly and responsive. We appreciated his suggestions and recommendations during the project. We knew he had other projects but always felt like we were his most important priority. He was always available to address our questions, help us make decisions and to offer ideas and options to save us time and money. We are beyond thrilled with the results. David and his team did a fantastic job in building us a cottage that will be enjoyed by generations of our family and friends. Embarking on a large renovation project like this is not for the faint of heart but with David and his crew on our team, we accomplished our goals and then some. David is a kind and genuine person. Is this a key competency for a contractor? Not necessarily, but it certainly makes for a better experience. We started out with a small Job fix some ikea kitchen cabinets and do some trim work. We then also hired them to pain some exterior shutters. and fix some stairs and floors. Then the storm hit and we decided to replace our floors do some water proofing, and touchoup paint. Keegan and his crew are great and I highly recomend them. there was a small issue with our stairs and they ended up fixing it for free. IF you ahve a job and you are not sure who to call, look no further.

I posted a job on here in October 2023 to have the 2 small walls in my sun room (11 feet each in length) renovated - remove the old screen walls and replace them with framed drywall walls and a door to the outside. The door was to be an inexpensive 32 door with a window. Despite Rez having measured everything he did not realize he could not install an outward swinging door because it would hit the roof of my gazebo on my deck. It was his helper that noticed this during framing and offered the suggestion of sliding patio doors. Rez asked for an additional $500 for this change. I paid him immediately - the same day. It took months for the patio doors to be delivered and he promised they would be installed while I was on holiday from Jan 23 to 30, 2024. I came home and they were not installed. 2 weeks later he came and installed them. They are not level and do not latch or lock. Ive contacted him repeatedly to return and fix them and complete the job. There is still more drywalling to do, windows and doors to be trimmed and interior walls to be painted. He says he doesnt do exterior work in the winter - but he took 90% of the cost of the job before Christmas 2023! There is also exterior siding to be done and this also remains incomplete. This has been an awful experience and extremely stressful. This project started in November 2023 and is still not done.

Hasn't started yet but I felt comfortable dealing with MJays and they are a local business, knowledgeable , friendly, can get it done fairly quickly with some possible upcoming projects too. Hoping to give a 5 star review for MJays after completed and recommend to others. Update: Finished today and definitely 5 stars! Went over above our expectations. Made 3 trips to get a perfect color match. Attention to detail is definitely a 5 star rating; Did a few other touch ups ( was a surprise) . Will definitely be hiring again for future projects we are thinking of. Definitely recommend MJays if you want a contractor who takes pride in their work , which they clearly do. Cleaned up entire site before leaving ! Thank you MJays !!!

Would be zero stars if possible. Hired for fence and deck, didn't finish fence and didn't start deck. Ripped us off for over $5000. Didn't cut posts, didn't fill holes around posts, didn't put on a gate and didn't clean up any mess. Killed the neighbors lawn around all the posts. Put fence boards on and said he was coming the next day to do gate and clean up. Never saw him again. Tried contacting him almost everyday for a month and he never responded at all. Such a coward. If anyone hires Lucas and gets ripped off, I warned you. Because he ended up being a scumbag all I can do is sue him. I regret ever hiring this guy, so unprofessional. Even when he was doing the fence it took a long time. Was almost impossible to get in touch with him then. Always had an excuse, lost his phone, broke his phone or in an area with no service. Meanwhile he was at his real job. Overall a very bad experience and definitely don't recommend Northlake or Lucas at all. Zero stars for work, five for scamming
