Forever Masonry may be one of Ottawa's best kept secrets. We've now completed three contracts with Forever Masonry (parging, foundation repointing, and back foundation cement work). This review reflects the three contracts. Consider yourself (and your home) extremely fortunate if you manage to hire Anton and his team for any masonry work - peace of mind is an understatement. Our home is an over century year old home - all original everything, brick and stone foundation (i.e., care required and most importantly expertise in fine restoration and its "era" needed - Anton with one look, can figure out the year of the brick and stone and match it) - besides being a delight to have onsite - the team is respectful of the property (e.g., existing landscaping), the neighbours (they all got to know the team), community (especially any dogs), and the client. Anton keeps the client in the loop and even provides easy to understand explanations for any client keen on learning more about masonry (you will also find him supporting and teaching/advancing each member of his team). The quality of their workmanship is in a class unto itself - they know what they're doing - we've worked with a previous masonry company (over a decade ago) and the difference is night/day from that experience. Forever Masonry completed the work on time, on budget and they even provided advice on how best to maintain surfaces and mitigate future issues/damages (e.g., eavestroughing) caused by water. Forever Masonry is recommended with absolutely ZERO reservations. If you have a masonry problem - they will be able to solve it (in the most cost effective way possible - Anton and his team understand realities). Marcio came quickly to help fix a poorly done old basement door that had been blocked up and the stairwell had been improperly covered and was unsafe. He repaired the block, parged the failing bricks and put down a concrete pad so we could put new stairs. He was great to work with. Did everything quickly and clean. Definitely recommend Marcio.

We recently hired MNM Home Renovations to install one large painting and a set of six smaller paintings that required precise alignment and spacing. The smaller paintings needed particular attention, as they were grouped together and had to be perfectly spaced while maintaining a straight line at both the top and bottom. MNM was punctual, professional, and incredibly helpful, even assisting with moving furniture in and out to get the job done. The work was done with great care — all the paintings are perfectly level and neatly installed. Not a single mark or mess was left behind. He never showed up and won’t answer text or phone an hour after he was supposed to arrive!! Home stars is a joke as obviously you can’t trust you’re hiring someone dependable!!! Update: after I posted the review the pro who had said he would be here 7:30-8am showed up at 9:15 advising he had been on another job quote that ran over. Although my fence was repaired, the workers decided to nail holes into my PVC fence post in order to ensure the fence did not lean while the concrete was setting. Did not consult me about nailing holes into my fence. He suggested a work around to repair the damage, which he returned to do the next day, but only fixed 2 of the 3 holes he nailed into my fence post. Not to mention he just left the wood pieces in my neighbour garden and made a mess of the river rocks on my side of the fence. Also not to mention... they rescheduled my fence repair 2 times stating rain... the first time it did not end up raining that day and the 2nd time it rained... finally came on the 3rd scheduled time. Not a satisfied customer.
