We needed a tall dead spruce tree removed from the side yard. We contacted Silver Fern through HomeStars and Marek arrived the next day for an estimate. The estimate visit was on a Thursday. The crew arrived on Monday to remove the dead tree and two diseased trees. They cleaned up after themselves and left the yard looking good. A nice bonus was a tidy pile of logs for the fire pit. Handy Wired responded to my HomeStar add. Tawanda came and was very helpful. He treated my home with respect. Tawanda (Handy Wired) proved absolutely capable of any job required...this one....climbing 26 ft up onto my roof to seal my skylight that was showing signs of a leak. His work was all that I expected and a few days later he called back to ensure that I was satisfied with the job that was done. That, I appreciated. I came across Talaska Inc through HomeStars and when I looked at the Google and HomeStars reviews, I was almost certain the reviews were fake, as I strongly believed there cant be a single bad review. However I decided to take a chance and call Ziggy for a quote. This led to one of our best home renovation experiences ever. From showing up to provide us with a quote to completing the project, Ziggy was a one man show who was respectful, professional and just amazing. He came home to provide us a quote and within 5 minutes he gave us a price that he stuck with till the end. He explained the process and took the time to answer any and all questions we had (and trust me there was quite a bit) and didnt push us to use his services but left the ball in our court. Appreciating this approach, we decided to book him to have our pool removed. He came on time as mentioned, had a G licensed gas fitter come in to disconnect the gas and cap it, an electrician to assist with the electrical, and then just went to work. It was unbelievable to see how much this man can do in a day on his own, still while stopping to answer our questions and accept our additional requests at no additional cost. He even decided to use sand instead of soil to fill up the area as we were going to put concrete there the year after and he said the sand will pack tighter and be better for when we put concrete. This was also at his own expense, not charging us extra for it. Within 2 and a half days, he had completed all his work, and where the machinery had to go over our and the neighbours lawn due to spacing, he ended up putting good quality topsoil and seeded it for the grass to grow back. The end result was a clean, yet really good demolition work that has set us up nicely for the concrete work the next year. In all, I would highly suggest Ziggy for any demolition work as he is truly the best at it and a great person to work with.

Peter has a great crew that he works with for concrete and landscaping. He did all the concrete for stairs, landscape grading ,and a steep heated drive way for us. The work was done very well and we are happy with how everything turned out . We have a very steep driveway and was worried about how the grading was going to be done without the car bottoming out .Peter made a template for the clearance for the car and everything worked out fine. This was supposed to be a small handyman job that morphed into a fairly big renovation. Tishane and his crew handled it beautifully! He was easy to communicate with and handled everything very professionally. Aside from all the small stuff like hanging pictures. He has a background in HVAC. So he finished a utility room . And renovated a bathroom. The results were perfect! I would not hesitate to recommend this company. They really know their stuff! After just 1 year I was promoted to Construction Foreman and held the position until 2020, when I decided to start my own business. After five successful seasons, we at TGM Landscape and Mortar look forward providing you with your dream property.
We had an old front porch(built 1958) that was crumbling and starting to become a real danger. TGM replaced the porch with a new lafitt tandem wall. Project was completed on time, and communicated well with us throughout. When it came to design we left Dylan to do what he thought would work, he noticed our soffits had just been redone and suggested doing a dark border cap that would go nicely with it. When a defect happened with one of the caps, rather than possibly hide it or hope we wouldn't notice, Dylan pointed it out right away and fixed it. Justin & Dylan powered through some of the hottest days of the year cheerfully and efficiently. We've gone from the ugly duckling in the neighbourhood to a front of house of our dreams, we didn't know we could cause such rubber necking! We simply couldn't be happier with the end result and are gathering a list of more jobs for TGM.Latest review:
