A toilet in our house came away from the floor in a way that broke the flange it was bolted to. I called MT Drains because they had done a fine repair job in our kitchen a few months earlier. Viktoriya in the office was very friendly & helpful in getting us a cost estimate in a timely fashion and setting up an appointment to fix the problem that fit our schedules. We received email confirmation and reminder of the appointment, and a text confirmation on the morning of the appointment itself. The technician, Amir, arrived a few minutes before the start of the window for the appointment, which I always appreciate a lot! He was friendly, polite and professional. He assessed the repair requirements, confirmed the estimate, and completed the job in a timely manner. Amir also cleaned up everything and even took the garbage away with him. Viktoriya followed up shortly thereafter by phone to check that we were pleased with the job, and then sent the invoice to me for the agreed amount. She also confirmed that they received our payment right away. We hired these guys last year to install a shutoff valve onto our gas line and hook up our gas bbq. Weve now been smelling gas very frequently and its clear the piece they installed is corroded, rusted and leaking. Ive tried to reach out a couple of times over the last couple of weeks to ask them to come and fix the issue (obviously leaking gas is very dangerous!) and theyve never responded. Really disappointed in the quality of work and lack of customer service. I had two furnaces and one combi boiler that were overdue for a general inspection. I had to wait a bit to get these guys out for the inspection as it was prime season for furnace emergencies but they were scheduled for the New Year and showed up on time with great communication en route. It was a seasoned tradesman with an apprentice, both friendly and polite. They took their time and found an issue with the original installation of the combi boiler. I felt like my appliances got a through review (complete with detailed report) and I was happy to know they are working fine and in the Spring I will have this company back to correct the installation error on the boiler (not done by them) and have the boiler flushed. Airmakers were the first to respond. They came promptly, inspected my furnace, said it was old but in good shape, said they made some adjustments to make it more efficient. So far satisfaction. But while the temperature outside rose, the house was noticeably colder, and the furnace noisier. It is unable to maintain the set temperature; it drops as low as 17, and then may take more than an hour to reach my set 22. After 3 weeks of this, I contacted the office. The manageress was not interested. She would send someone out only if I paid another $89. As her first comment was "How old is your furnace," I suspected that I would be told that I needed a new furnace, in spite of being told 3 weeks before that it was working well. When our furnace started to malfunction, I called Edward, who was my furnace maintenance serviceman. Edward came by and gave our furnace a temporary fix. He pointed out that there was a leakage in the system, and the fix would likely not last. Seeing that our furnace was twenty years old, my wife and I decided it was time to replace the system, and since Edward had given us good reliable service in the past, we thought he would be the appropriate provider. Two days later, Edward arrived as scheduled with two other servicemen. They fully protected (the flooring of) the part of the house through which they had to move the equipment to get to the basement where the furnace is normally housed. They cleared an adequate area so that they could worked reasonably comfortably. For three to four hours, they worked furiously at dismantling the old furnace, and installing the new one. Throughout the process, they seemed to know exactly what to do. The only question they had was one concerning the exhaust pipe, as regulations have changed. In the end, they completed the installation, moved everything in the basement back in place, and did a general sweep up. Because the new furnace is a little smaller than the old one, the basement actually seems to have gained some space in the process. At the conclusion of the installation, Edward accompanied me to the site, explained the equipment to me. He also explained the invoice to me and answered my queries. This marks the second time I have dealt with Edward, first time being furnace maintenance last year. I always find him to be a very trustworthy person. He is quiet but he tells you everything you should know and need to know. He is a man of his words, and certainly very knowledgeable, and gets things done. I hired Antech to replace a bathroom fan and fix it's 2-speed operation. Hamid, the electrician, did a clean and tidy job of replacing the fan. He also spend a fair bit of time trying to figure out how the 2-speed operation had worked, but never did figure it out for sure. He had some ideas and promised to do some research and get back to me, but it's been nearly three weeks and I haven't heard back.
