Before providing a quotation for the job, Billy ensured to inquire about and understand the scope of work. His pricing was fair, reasonable, and competitive. On the day of, Billy arrived on time and completed the job efficiently, while ensuring to take the time to answer any questions that I had throughout the process. Yard design / landscaping- 7 Aug 2025
I am updating my review on Xin Man Landscaping/ Luo to reflect his dishonesty incompetence and disrespect toward women. He did not complete the job he was paid for leaving a gap between the stones and grass all the way down the length of my driveway, leaving behind a minuscule amount of sandstone and directions for me to fill it in myself! The amount he left was barely enough for a foot. 2 weeks later, the unfinished interlock had shifted. I asked him to return to finish the job but apparently he was too busy and insisted if i wanted more material to complete HIS job, i would have to drive down from Newmarket to meet him at 10 pm in Scarborough! I did. He showed up with another almost empty bag of sand stone material knowing full well it would not be sufficient! Again, he insisted that was all he had and i could return again tomorrow for more as if the 90 min commute was no big deal! Bottom line, DO NOT use this man, he is a lier a thief and he does not stand by his work!

Lex came highly recommended by my brother so I decided to hire him to lay a backyard concrete patio and widen the driveway. Work was delayed from September and finally started in the second week of December. This should have been my first warning sign. He assured me it will be fine as he has done work in colder temperatures. I trusted him as he was the professional. The backyard patio was laid first and the driveway was done a week later. In the late spring, I noticed some flaking of the backyard patio surface and called Lex. He said he would come out to have a look as soon as possible. He never showed up nor did he contact me. (My second warning sign). After several more calls to Lex, I felt he was feeling annoyed with me calling him and he actually shifted the blame on me stating I must have sprayed water onto the patio concrete after he left. Why in the world would I even do this as any normal person would wait for the concrete to harden. Needless to say, Lex NEVER came back to see how the flaking affected the patio. After I paid him the full amount, he considered this a closed case! To this day, I cannot fully enjoy my backyard patio as the flaking has affected the whole surface and each time I see it, I cannot help but feel being ripped off by this man! In my opinion, his workmanship is extremely shoddy and his customer service is non existent. I do NOT recommend this company to anyone unless you want to be ripped off.

Wonderful experience and job well done. Special thanks to Michael for heading the crew and getting the work done ahead of time. The backyard grading along the property line between my neighbour and myself happens to be quite contentious. It has been mediated by the Richmond Hill Grading Department (RHGD) who have been quite understanding and reasonable in their handling of the situation. When the request came from the RHGD on what was needed on my side, a call was put in to Greenlane Landscaping to estimate the job and provide details on when it could be done. They, in fact, were the only landscaping company that answered my call. Michael, their landscape architect, came by and scoped out the job. It was done in a professional and congenial manner. The terms were agreed fairly shortly after that (regrade of the the area and resod as needed) and the date was set. There was a wrinkle in that the job date had to be pushed forward to meet the needs of RHGD and that was accommodated by Greenlane. When the date came, Greenlane sent a professional crew supervised by Michael, and they did a highly professional job. The crew was congenial and and empathetic in their relations. The job was completed to a first rate standard. the sod and soil provided were excellent and the instructions provide to keep the sod growing were easy to follow. In fact, the sod is the best grass I have in my backyard. There have been no issues with RHGD regarding the work done so far on my side of the property line. Thank you Greenlane on a job well done.
