It is truly a pleasure to write a review for Nathanael and his team! We are one of many families on our street that have trusted our homes to Nathanael. Our project involved stripping our 2-room attic space down to the studs to build a dormer extension with a bathroom, and redo a bedroom, optimizing every inch of space. In executing the work, Nathanael and his team took the time to reinforce studs, beams and joists, taking the time and effort to attend to the subfloor to prevent creaky floors. From structural work, to HVAC/insulation, to the last finishes, no short cuts were ever taken - we truly felt Nathanael and his team cared about the project as though it was their own house. We quickly came to trust Nathanael's judgment and suggestions. No challenge was seen as a problem. Nathanael was always ready with a pragmatic, professional solution at hand that enhanced the design of the project. His highly skilled and talented team were conscientious and meticulous in their work putting long hours and working weekends to get the job done. Wall or floor tiling- 18 Nov 2025
Our project was the installation of kitchen tiles starting from the subfloor. Jason explained the steps required to perform the work and provided us with a reasonable quote. He was genuine which gave me the confidence to choose him for our project. When it came to laying the tiles, Jason mapped out all the tiles first to make sure that the focal point of the room was the important part and figured out the tiles from there to the wall (as opposed to just starting from the wall regardless of focal point and how the tile “seams” appear at this focal point). Ultimately, the finished tile floor looks great. We are very happy with the work he did. Thank you Jason.

Hugo Velez is a consummate professional. He's personable, listens well, and is willing to give his opinion when asked. I hired him to paint several rooms of my house, and he did an excellent job. He also repainted my porch, and then offered to paint it again with his own paint supply because he felt a darker colour would look better (he was right). He also replaced my kitchen floor and the tiles look amazing. Unlike other contractors, Hugo doesn't consider himself finished until you are completely satisfied. He won't disappear when the job is "done," leaving you with incomplete work. He's fast and efficient, and considers returning to fix the touch up spots part of the job. My house looks beautiful now and I couldn't be happier. I would definitely hire Velez General Reno again.
