Lex came highly recommended by my brother so I decided to hire him to lay a backyard concrete patio and widen the driveway. Work was delayed from September and finally started in the second week of December. This should have been my first warning sign. He assured me it will be fine as he has done work in colder temperatures. I trusted him as he was the professional. The backyard patio was laid first and the driveway was done a week later. In the late spring, I noticed some flaking of the backyard patio surface and called Lex. He said he would come out to have a look as soon as possible. He never showed up nor did he contact me. (My second warning sign). After several more calls to Lex, I felt he was feeling annoyed with me calling him and he actually shifted the blame on me stating I must have sprayed water onto the patio concrete after he left. Why in the world would I even do this as any normal person would wait for the concrete to harden. Needless to say, Lex NEVER came back to see how the flaking affected the patio. After I paid him the full amount, he considered this a closed case! To this day, I cannot fully enjoy my backyard patio as the flaking has affected the whole surface and each time I see it, I cannot help but feel being ripped off by this man! In my opinion, his workmanship is extremely shoddy and his customer service is non existent. We ended up having the staircase to our basement replaced. They handled removal, building the new staircase and railing, and finishing (staining). Completed in the timeframe that was indicated. We moved into a new home with an unsafe wood fireplace. We wanted to convert it to a gas fireplace insert. We reached out to many contractors on HomeStars, but Bobbi was the only one who actually came out to speak to us and give us options. He was attentive, professional, knowledgeable, and his suggestions were spot on. Mohammad, Damon and a third whose name escapes me (sorry) were a fantastic install team. They left the worksite clean. I had a clogged drain and reached out to a few groups for quotes. Mark took the time to explain there were a few potential options to fix while other groups recommended very costly hydro jetting. Mark was able to fix the problem in about an hour.
