I gave two stars because they are hard workers, otherwise I would have given one star. 2M Renovations sanded, stained and varnished a floor for me. They did not sand well which resulted in the old floor coming through. I made them re- sand the bad spots on the floor and re-stain and varnish, which made it look a little better. There are still other spots that the old floor is coming through. They would not wait the recommended times for re-staining or varnishing by Manufacturer. The job that they did on the mouldings that had to go back on was very poor and looks like a child did it. I will have to redo the mouldings myself. I would not use them again. I would also not use Home stars again as I am not sure how they’re vetting process, if they have one, works.

We were experiencing some water damage on our kitchen ceiling as a result of leaking coming from the balcony floor (flat roof) directly above. After receiving dramatically different quotes/opinions from several roofing companies, we had the good fortune of having Stepan come to our property. After carefully inspecting the balcony, Stepan patiently explained that the issue from our balcony was almost certainly a result of some gaps in the caulking, which we should rule out before diving into a bigger and more expensive repair. Stepan took care of this for us on the spot. He asked me to keep an eye on the issue and if there were any further problems, to contact him. Hasib and team were amazing! My upstairs bathrooms were complex, connected with the bath/shower between two washrooms, and I'd been struggling with various leaks and poor repair attempts for several years. Hasib was thorough in ensuring all of the possible leak points and all previous damage was fully repaired. Him and his team were respectful and careful working in my home. Hasib was very good at providing me with design options and selections, finding well priced, good quality items and fixtures. He was responsive throughout the entire process and took time to understand the concerns and worries I had from all the previous leaks and repairs. I will be hiring Hasib again to complete the remaining work in my house.

I recently had my roof replaced by Derek Chen and his team at GCP Roofing Inc, and I could not be happier with the results. From start to finish, Derek was professional, clear in communication, and committed to delivering excellent workmanship. The crew arrived on time, worked efficiently, and took care of every detail — from removing all old shingles and nails, inspecting the plywood, installing ice and water shield with full underlayment, to adding new vents and replacing the chimney flashing. The job site was kept clean throughout, and they left the property spotless once the project was completed. The quality of work is outstanding, and Derek stood by his word on every commitment. I contracted Sunil at Woodline to build a custom home. My experience with Woodline Framing Company was highly unprofessional and frustrating. From the start, Sunil, the contractor, failed to fulfill basic responsibilities. Despite receiving clear instructions multiple times, he printed the WRONG set of construction plans, I had to drop off the correct set despite him having them in his possession, he missed key materials, including a large post and placed expensive orders for incorrectly sized beams, which led to significant delays and additional costs. He assured me that everything was accurate and even copied me on an email to the welder/steel supplier confirming the order, only for me to discover major errors that further stalled the project. Without prior notice or approval, Sunil subcontracted the entire job without disclosing this arrangement upfront. This unexpected subcontracting left me at risk, especially as it became evident that the subcontractors had not been paid. Sunil's approach to managing this project was not only careless but also financially reckless, as he failed to properly manage payments and overcharged me for work that was never completed. Additionally, I communicated to him that I was not to be used as his bank to pay his subcontractors as our agreement had clear milestones. I paid Sunil $23,000 plus taxes, and yet only one-third of the milestone was completed - I agreed, out of good-faith on my part (to pre-pay a milestone that wasn't completed believing he would pay his subcontractors and what he owed them). His lack of accountability and professionalism throughout the project has left me with escalating expenses and significant delays. We both agreed to terminate the contract and that I would work directly with the subcontractors that were doing the work instead. We both agreed to this - only to have him hire a law firm demanding that I pay him the full amount of the contract! What's laughable is that he wouldn't even be entitled to the full amount of the contract given he was subcontracting the whole project and had already been overpaid based on my contract with him - I'm entitled to a refund. Sunil did not know or understand basic framing fundamentals like screwing down posts on a wooden LVL beam. I told Sunil I had spoken to other framers and a builder and you never do that as there's nothing (no thread) to attach the post to the wooden LVL below. Regardless, his solution, was "I do it all the time" - which is a scary thought. Rather than admit he forgot a steel beam, he insisted that I ask my engineer to approve a wooden LVL. This is a nearly 7000 sq ft modern home and he would rather cut corners rather than replace the steel beam which I had to push him to do and fix (his subcontractors were able to swap that out and fix it). My only saving grace was that he agreed to terminate the contract and be out of the picture completely before it cost me more money. If you are looking for a reliable, trustworthy contractor, I would strongly advise against using Woodline Framing Company.
