We were looking for a provider to make and install oak treads on our stairs. Jose from VDR worked with us to fully understand our needs. During our visit I mentioned that we were replacing about 900 sq ft of carpeted floors on our second level with hardwood and he mentioned that VDR also did hardwood floor installation. We hired VDR for both jobs. Their pricing was fair and competitive and and we were provided with a detailed statement work. Hardwood installation was completed in 2 days and completed about a week after agreeing to work with VDR. The stairs included new oak treads and risers. In total, the work took 4 days - the first day to remove the carpet, tackboard and staples and to measure the existing treads (the treads are not all the same size and some are angled) and then 3 days to install the new treads once they'd been manufactured and stained. We are very happy with the end result.

Specializing in interior renovations and high detail areas (ex. Bathrooms) I typically only work on only one project at a time. I have an assistant that I work with and we complete the majority of the labour/finishing outside of the typical plumbing/electrical, of which I have long term relationships with the trades. I also have excellent, trustworthy contacts in areas such as glass works, countertops (stone, etc) and hardwood. We just finished renovating our bathroom, our contractor was Smith property Renos. The job was completed in 3 weeks as estimated and we are absolutely delighted with the results. Jason and Damien repaired the mortar at both our cottage and home. They put in a tremendous effort every day. Their work is meticulous and professional. They repaired the work of two other masons I had prior to hiring Gledhill and did a great job removing the old mortar. Jason can also remove and cut stones. We reached out to Home Shield looking for a quote on a metal roof and were very happy to meet with the owner to go over all of our options. We were initially scheduled to have the roof installed in late January/February, but contacted Barry (the owner) when our existing shingle roof began to leak after the first big snowfall. Barry kindly provided us with some temporary measure options and graciously moved our installation up to that weekend. The crew that installed our roof were incredibly kind, professional, and efficient. They worked well past sundown to ensure our installation was completed promptly and left the worksite clean and tidy once the project was completed. We are so happy with our new roof and the positive experience we had working with Barry and his team at Home Shield. With no knowledge or experience whatsoever we decided to demolish and rebuild our house. Being completely clueless meant we had to ask dozens of very basic questions at every stage of the process. It also meant that once committed, we had no choice but to have faith in John and Renocorp. 2 years later and I can say without reservation that every single time we gave John the benefit of the doubt, it worked out in our favour. Every. Single. Time. This project started in the immediate aftermath of COVID. There were initial shortages of everything, including labour. Problems with suppliers, drama with subcontractors, complications with existing infrastructure? We were insulated from ALL of it. The only problems our job encountered were relayed to us as humorous anecdotes from inside our perfectly finished house. Dion and team created retaining wall and stone driveway in my front yard. The team works well and no time is wasted. I needed to reduce sound transfer from my basement without lowering the ceiling. I had a hard time finding contractors who would be able to do this kind of insulation work. Pascal was easy to work with and communicated clearly throughout the project. He talked through the options and made clear estimates for what kind of sound reduction we could expect to see. The work was completed over a couple of days as expected and we've measured a noticeable reduction in sound transmission, particularly in the higher frequencies.
