Stop leakage- 14 Jun 2025
Greg CHEREBIN responded promptly to my request one evening—sent via Homestars. We had a helpful conversation and he followed up with a very reasonable estimate and booked a site visit. The ceiling in our bathroom had a leak and we were having difficulty locating the source. Greg was able to determine that a dryer vent was blocked /dripping water. Another company was called into replace the dryer vents and GREG returned to patch and paint the ceiling over a period of six hours. Very happy with the work GREG did and would not hesitate to hire him again.

After getting a frantic call from my tenant that there was a leak in the house, I quickly searched for a reputable company that could come help. Thankfully, I got a hold of Roy from Connor and Associates. He was there quick to analyze the issue and give me options to repair my issue. I was referred UNIC by a neighbor who had some eavetroughs replaced. After reading several reviews UNIC was contacted to get a quote. My neighbor and I live in a semi and we wished to have vinyl siding, new facsia and soffits installed. The UNIC rep came to meet with us and was quite pleasant with us. He seemed to be very knowledgeable. A week after our meeting, we received a quote for the work. After pursuing several quotes for comparison and doing some additional research on UNIC, my neighbor and I decided to engage UNIC for the work. We met once again with UNIC rep, decided on colors, and discussed approximate time for the work to begin. The following morning, the UNIC contacted us advising that an error was made in the quote and the total cost for the job had increased by $6000. Not a small amount, almost double the original quote. I understand errors do happen, but a substantial increase in a quote at the time that a decision has been made is a bit troubling. Unfortunately we are now left to swallow the additional cost and start over trying to find another contractor, as winter quickly approaches. When getting quotes from UNIC, exercise caution when making a final decision. You may be left high and dry. Extremely disappointing experience...

Das was very professional in his service. His main concept is minimal damage to the home structure and doing things the right way. He gave a clear idea of the options available for pot lights and how best we can install them in our living room. I think Customer Satisfaction is very important for Das than profit. He did not push for any unwanted work. He listens to our concern and addresses it very well. Got to know that he does all kind of renovations, basement finishing etc too. I will definitely reach out to him for any kind of work that is required in future. I strongly recommend Das to be the go to man for any kind of reno work.

This was a very tricky renovation project, and Lowell and Michael did a magnificent job. Beautiful workmanship and amazing attention to detail, and they treated our home with care. Lowell made a number of suggestions about points that the other contractors we interviewed didn't mention, and Michael was as hard-working a person as we've ever seen! When unexpected things cropped up they were unfailingly good-natured and Michael's eye for detail found us a better colour-matched threshhold than the one we had picked out. They were a pleasure to have in our home, and Christine in the back office couldn't have been more helpful in answering our questions. All in all, we recommend Lyons Construction with no hesitation whatsoever.

I had the privilege of working with DWC General Contracting during my kitchen and laundry room restructuring / remodelling. The owner of the company (Donovan) and his designer came out for a consultation to review the job. I was annoyed when they were 20 minutes late as I had a virtual work meeting to attend. During the initial consultation, Donovan provided some great ideas but ideas come with a cost and I was on a budget. My original plan was to change the builder cabinet doors and replace the handles. This plan changed as I started seeing the vision Donovan had for the space. My kitchen is 10ft in height and did not have uppers. I should be ashamed to say that I had no idea what uppers were, but after viewing pictures of Donovans past projects I saw the benefit in filling the unused space. During our second meeting the idea of including a side by side fridge was presented. I did not believe this style of fridge would fit the space I had. Donovan and his designer surprised me with a 3D digital drawing of my kitchen on their iPad. I was blown away with the concept, but still considering the cost of all these changes. In order for the fridge to fit, it would need to be relocated and the laundry room which Im not particularly fond of would also need a face lift. The kitchen drawing also provided changes to my laundry room and butler area. By pushing the laundry room wall back 6inches it would accommodate the side by side fridge with the water line being installed. Losing space was my next question and thats when the butler area idea was introduced. Donovan asked me how much I enjoyed doing laundry and spending time in the laundry room. I must say doing laundry is a chore I can do without. The suggestion of pushing the other wall from the laundry room which backs on to the butler area 16 inches would allow for additional cabinets to be installed. This job was looking extremely expensive but also extremely attractive. My eyes got bigger than my pocket and I told Donovan I was ready to proceed with the work. After years of a global pandemic and working from home, I was in need of an environmental change. The deposit structure was fair and the start date was scheduled three weeks later. My luck there were minor structural changes along the way but Donovan worked with me to keep the cost as low as possible. The water line became an issue as my basement was completed. Donovans team of workers were able to cut specific area of my basement ceiling to account for plumbing and the new gas line for a gas stove I never thought I would want. The job took a little longer than expected but I was extremely happy with the end result. The DWC team were all professional, courtious and friendly towards my daughter who would find herself getting in their way at times. Donovan stated he was a father and understood. When Donovan asked if I would provide a review I gladly accepted. He may have been late the first time, but he ended everything perfectly. Thanks to DWC I have an entire new kitchen, laundry room and butler area. Upon completion of the job Donovan had a team of two staff clean the main floor and basement as a thank you for employing them. Thank you DWC and I look forward to my next project. Hopefully next time youll show up on time the first time.

We have had the pleasure of working with Flann Fence and Deck for two deck projects and the replacement of our fence and gates over the years. Drew and his team have always done an exceptional job. Both decks are not only beautiful, but still going strong after 10 years. In 2022, Drew replaced our fencing and gates, making significant improvements to the privacy in our yard. Drew is not only honest and reliable, but highly skilled. His work is built to last, reasonably priced, and always on schedule. We have received many compliments over the years!
