I had a serious leak in out roof that turned out to require a full replacement, and I couldn’t be happier with the service I received. From the moment they came out to inspect the damage, they were honest, thorough, and extremely knowledgeable. The team walked me through the issues, gave me a clear and fair quote, and then got to work quickly. Not only did they replace the entire roof with great attention to detail, but they also went above and beyond by addressing a few other issues they discovered—at no extra cost. I’ll summarize this as immature and unreliable. Knowing our hot-tub delivery deadline, we agreed to start the concrete pad project the same week on Friday. I canceled other contractors and signed a contract. Later, Tony asked to push the project to Sunday (which was awkward since it was Easter). He then realized everything was closed and asked to extend it to the following Wednesday or Thursday. I rescheduled the hot-tub delivery with the pool company because the concrete needed to cure, and there was no way to pour it on time. On Wednesday, I received a call that he can perform the job next month, not tomorrow. So, I am left without a pad and couldn’t find a contractor at this price because of the delivery I can't re-schedule again. He wasted a week of my time and money as I need to pay extra to perform this job on time. To be fair, he was communicative and returned my deposit...yet I hope he will learn the lesson that schedules have real consequences. I contacted GCR through HomeStars. Derek responded very quickly and provided an initial estimate. He was also very flexible and came over for a detailed estimate on time. He was thorough with his work and even suggested us to use Owen’s cornering which is high quality materials and avoid others. His team arrived on time and completed the job very efficiently all in one day. We lived in a semi detached with our neighbour and so we completed both houses together. His team’s workmanships was quality work and took photos before and after to show us. Their team replaced the plumbing vent flashing as well as replaced our vents with metal for an extra fee. They also did a great job cleaning up. His prices were very reasonable as well. He also provided detail quotes and offered warranty for his job. It’s been 3 months and so far there hasn’t been any issues. I found Derek and his team to be very professional throughout. Overall I would recommend Derek and his team again! Thank you Derek !

Project: Below grade entrance and finish basement Our requirement was to get a below-grade entrance and then complete our basement. Unfortunately, our journey to achieving this was nothing short of a nightmare. The first company we hired took our payment and vanished. The second company, which promised to complete the job in three weeks, dragged it out for a year with endless follow-ups, delivered the worst possible workmanship, and ultimately failed the inspection. They then abandoned the project entirely and wouldn’t even take our calls. After spending 1.5 times our budget and dealing with so much frustration, we lost all trust in contractors. Our basement project was put on hold indefinitely because we feared even more complications. Then, through a referral we engaged an engineer Tej from Vin Engineering Inc. to work with us on our legal basement. We wanted to maximize the space in the basement and he accommodate our request, provided some great suggestions to add value to the basement from a long term perpective. In the process of securing the approvals we discussed the issues with failed inspect for below grade entrance. Hearing our story he recommended Aozat Inc. with whom he had worked before. Hitesh and Parixit from Aozat Inc. listened to our concerns, patiently reviewed the failed inspection issues, and provided a clear quote and timeline to complete the project. Given our skepticism and trust issues, they were incredibly flexible, breaking the contract into phases to accommodate us and build our confidence with them. The entire Aozat team was patient, understanding, and professional throughout. They made this entire process easy for us. They always accommodated our requests and never once showed frustration. All approvals were secured at the required stages, ensuring a smooth and compliant process. What stood out most was how the owner and the lead manager of Aozat of the company kept us grounded on costs, making sure we didn’t exceed our budget. Their transparency and honesty were truly commendable. The basement turned out fantastic. We didn’t have to oversee anything, the speed, efficiency in managing different contractors, and their professionalism were admirable and exceeded our expectations.
