Alberto has been my go to contractor for many jobs around my home. For this big project he coordinated and organized all the work that had to be done in my home. This included the replacement of my old flooring with new engineered hardwood as well as tiling, plus adding a doorway in my bedroom, plus widening the hallway Walls, and also organizing electrical work that had to be done. He did everything for a reasonable cost. He also did some wxtra things that werent part of the job for no cost. All of his work was perfect. Great customer service. First time I ever had a contractor come to the house and do any work that had no issues afterward. He has done other smaller projects for me and never disappoints. As I said, he is my go to guy for whatever work I need done.

We initially engaged Monaco looking for a designer for a major reno but decided to hire them for the whole job (design/architecture + construction) because Revi appeared knowledgeable, and it seemed like a good idea to hire one team to do it all. It started off well but was ultimately an incredibly frustrating experience. It has now been a year since completion, so weve had a chance to live in our new home and reflect. The construction began on schedule. Nine days after they began, demolition was completed, the support beam was in place, the new walls were framed out, the utilities were run, and all the initial permits were closed. At that point, we were very optimistic. The core construction team, led by Steven, was competent. As a result, a year later, there have been no structural issues. The problems started to mount when we got to the finishings. There were two major sources of problems mediocre sub-contractors, and Revis disinterest in our project and argue now, fix later attitude. It became clear that Revi had delegated our job to her assistant (without informing us prior to signing the contract) and did not feel a sense of ownership of our job. There were several large mistakes made throughout construction incorrect kitchen cabinetry, backsplash tiles, interior doors, hardware, mismatched stain on the stairs and landings, amongst others. While we were sold on a process that focused on quality assurance, we found ourselves doing the job for them, and the most frustrating part was that each time we found a mistake, there would always be an argument before it was fixed. The mismatched stairs incident is the best example of this. We pointed out from the day it was done that there was a problem with the colour to anyone who would listen. Instead of coming and seeing it with her own eyes, Revi argued with us for two weeks by email, citing the contract that said the stairs/landing may not be a perfect match to the flooring, questioning whom we informed (it was everyone), claiming that it couldnt be fixed Until she saw it with her own eyes and immediately recanted. So much stress could have been saved if she had just taken ownership of our job. It felt like she did not get to know us to the extent necessary to do a good job. For example, she had our house painted in a beautiful high end matte paint that looks great and wears terribly. This would have been a good choice for a larger home or one without children, but in our small and spirited house, it looks dirty and needs repainting a year later. Then there were the problems with sub-contractors. I had a month of stress because the electrician, to get out of 30 minutes of work, claimed that our ceiling fans could not be wired the way they had been safely wired for years prior, and Revi argued back and forth, telling us her contractor wouldnt do it because it could cause a fire .. until we got another licensed electrician to write a statement saying she was wrong. Similarly, before paying Revi an additional amount to have her painter fix water staining around our skylights, we paid her roofer to inspect to ensure there was no active leakage. He inspected three times during the reno (once for a separate issue) and found none of the glaring issues which caused leaking within months, damaging our newly finished ceilings. Since the construction ended last summer, we have reached out with several issues and most have been dealt with. However, we were not able to solve the problems caused by the aforementioned leaking due to repeated incompetence by their roofing contractor. In trying to get her to remedy this, she once again cited the contract without understanding the situation, and then finally offered to fix it, but in her offer included an insane ChatGPT generated agreement that sounds like a fake lawyer wrote it, that says she will fix it if we promise not to reflect upon our experience publicly. And because my silence is worth more than some ceiling repairs and paint, we are here today telling you we would not hire her again.

Jerry and Kyle who did the actual work were awesome. They were meticulous, very communicative and professional. We are very pleased with the end result. However getting to the result was somewhat painful as the composite materials required for the deck took an unreasonably long time to be available so the job could be completed.

We are very pleased with Victor's work and highly recommend him. Our original 1870s staircase was separating from the wall, creating instability and lots of creaking. We had delayed dealing with the situation because we were pretty sure that the fix would be time-consuming, messy and expensive. We are thrilled that Victor proved us wrong on all counts! His experience and great carpentry expertise enabled him to tackle only the risers and treads that were causing problems-- without having to do a major teardown of the under-stair area. We started our renovation with such high hopes but the project ended prematurely (and was left incomplete) leaving us with absolute disappointment. We had to hire another company to fix the shoddy work Luis left behind. Luis can do alot of things but unfortunately in our home he did nothing really well. Based on the work he did for us, I can only conclude that he is nothing more than a glorified handyman parading as a professional contractor. My suggestion is to keep looking. He was a nightmare. If you read Luis' reply to this post, don't believe a word - just look at the pics. He is trying to paint me as the problem when he needs to look into the mirror. This job was not finished as Luis was fired from the project due to poor workmanship. He makes it sound like he returned my money but this is untrue. He paid back a small portion of the pre-paid installment payments which were made in good faith and on time. Despite what he says below, he just could not deliver what he promised and what he did deliver was generally sub-par. A third contractor (not hired) that saw pics of the work said, "The picture you sent me needs to be completely torn out, absolutely terrible work, Im not touching that with a 12ft pole. Sorry man, dont take it the wrong way. Im not interested in fixing anyone elses work or having someone elses work be the base for my work. If youre not willing to tear that out, Ill pass."

Quote was shared very quickly and project was completed on time and on budget. About the project: We had LVP installed across two levels of our home (approximately 1,100 square feet) and carpet installed on the stairs leading upstairs and to the basement. I needed to install a floating tv cabinet/shelf and a mounted tv on top of the cabinet on my wall. I had many options to choose from for the TV mount beforehand and the installers were very charismatic over the phone. They seemed to have a very good supply of equipment and I was able to pick teh4type of TV mount I wanted before they came. They even had an extra TV wiring kit on hand that was better than what I purchased beforehand. It was exceptional service and I will definitely go with Raza's Renos the next time around. I didn't have to buy a mounting bracket or a stud finder. I also could have saved more time by not trying to find a TV wiring kit.
