I hired Patel Elite Construction Inc mid September to repair my basement, apply waterproof paint to the walls, and install an epoxy membrane on the floor. The initial communication was well handled and Deep, my main post of contact, was very communicative and easy to work with. The initial results appeared great. However, less than 45 days later, the epoxy has started to peal and flake. When I raised this to Deep, he replied that the moisture in the basement is causing this and there is no solution. I find this disappointing because the epoxy coating was his recommendation - if there was a moisture issue, I would have hoped that it was identified BEFORE I paid to have the floor painted. I would not recommend Patel Elite Construction as their recommendations should be heavily questioned.

Told us our bathroom renovation would take 6-8 days and it took over 3 months...with constant trade changeovers and others coming in to "look" at the job. Unfortunately we found out too late that they have no trades working directly for them and were told they scour Kijiji to find "help". Two months later and our bathroom ceiling is cracked in multiple areas due to the poor workmanship! Whenever we brought our concerns to the "project manager" he never wrote anything down or used his phone for notes. When he'd show up, if he wasn't trying to upsell us on pointless replacement ideas, he was constantly scrambling, contradicting himself/workers or apologizing. If I had a $1 for every time he would apologize, I'd probably be able to pay for getting the ceiling redone properly! The hilarious thing is that as a kiss up, we were offered 2 free shutters for our troubles and they couldn't even get that right. After the third time to correct we told them to forget it...of course they blamed the shutter company. Please do your homework thoroughly when picking a renovation company!

We had engaged with Alex in July of 2021 to help prepare drawings, designs and submissions required to obtain a building permit from the City. The scope of work was to include: - Arrange for permits on behalf of the owner - Act on behalf of the owner regarding any and all matters having to do with the work - Prepare required documentation for formal submission to city planning - If required, prepare Committee of Adjustment documentation - Prepare final working drawings needed to obtain building permit From the start of engagement there was significant delays in moving forward. Weeks at a time where there would be limited contact and lack of response by email/text/phone. We were given some reasons/excuses that delays were due to personal situations but things would be back on track once they were sorted out. Things progressed although slowly. When receiving drawing drafts and reviewing them as well as providing back comments to update, the time in between revisions took between a few days to a few weeks. The final drawings were completed in Oct approx 3 months after engagement. There were also things we had to ask for twice, that he said was changed but then the drawings were not actually updated. Not to mention trying to get the files sent to us were a pain as well as they always seemed to get "stuck in my outbox". We were told the building permit application went in promptly thereafter but did not receive anything further until the end December - for an authorization form with the city which was provided back from us Jan 2nd, 2022. Later we found out the City only received the permit application on Feb 16th. They had committed to provide comments back before End of March, and they did. It has now been almost 2 months since then and we cannot get a hold of Alex to even let us know what needs to be done next. Many many calls and emails and texts have been sent but he is unresponsive. The architectural work was sub-contracted by Alex to someone, who was on the permit application, and in communicating with them it seems Alex is not even responding back to his own sub-contract trade either. Our payment agreement specified 50% up front, balance on completion of permit ready drawings. Drawings which we did receive, therefore payment has been made in full. However, we have no permit, and are stuck without the ability to keep moving forward. The Job that we hired Balmbuilt for was to obtain the building permits based on the design specification. This has not been completed. A complaint to the BBB has already been submitted as well. Next step will be to file a claim in SCC. Terrible experience. Our expectations are that professionals will deliver to their word, and if for any reason they cannot that there be some acknowledgement and compensation.

This comapny was hired by a neighbour to do a neighbourhood fence! Extremely poor communication, and was not made aware our yards would be sitting open for 4 weeks after posts went in until finally returning to do fence boards. Paid additional $10 per section for removal of old boards and cement only have dumped in front of house and have to ask for days to come back THEN weeks later found they had buried cement from posts in my garden and took 2 months to return to pick up. And finally the lack of professionalism in dealing with Mohammed was astounding to the point of texting me threats about "wanting his money and to not start a problem for him and for me" . Would never recommend this company!!!

Hired to change out a shower valve and fixtures that were bypassing between the tub spout and shower head. The newly installed Moen valve is still bypassing - so the initial problem wasn't fixed. Instructed him to reuse the old tub spout though as the hole around the tiles was quite large and the new shower fixture would cover it - he installed the new one and poorly siliconed around the hole with a very large gap. Requested he took photos of the process so i had documentation for future reference - not completed. He installed the new shower handle but didn't tighten the screw so the shower handle was very floppy and I had to tighten it. He must have leaned on and pulled the anchors out of the wall the hand towel rack - didn't say anything and placed it back - fell out when it got used. He left a mess in the utility room. Cost $525 and he is unwilling to give me any money back. In summary, I'm no further ahead, stuff got damaged, and now I have to call someone else.

However, be wary of tub do-it-yourself kits and so called refinishers who offer super low prices because important preparation steps are skipped and cheap products are being used. 5.) AAA Bathtub Refinishing is a family owned business. 99% of the time, it would be me (owner) who will come out and get the job done, while other companies send out one of their tech. Once the job is done, I visit the next day to make sure everything is done right, and seal the Tub and Tiles with 100% premium Silicone.

Used this company a number of years ago. Leo did a fabulous job. Called them for a return visit a few months ago. Leo has basically surrendered this business to his father. Responses from Leo are almost non-existent. I had his father do the second job. It is not even close to the first round. Looks like there are scratches everywhere. The overspray is evident on the toilet and on the upper tiles. He was supposed to do the caulking and was surprised to hear that. The first application of caulking was very sloppy. He came back the next day. I was almost in tears at how bad this looked. He added another layer of caulking which didn't work. Within a very short period of time it separated from the tile. I just removed everything only to discover that he had stuffed newspaper in behind the caulking as a filler!! I left a message for Leo and, shockingly, no response AGAIN! Very very disappointing and a complete waste of money. I will have to replace the tub very soon. Never again.

My contract was handed off to some kid named Pav. It was supposed to be a 1 day job and prices were agreed on. The guy shows up at 12 with a friend, no tools, no materials and immediately heads out to lunch. Then insists I go to home Depot and rent out the concrete saw needed for the job along with 300 kgs of hpb which he was supposed to bring. When I told him I had to cut the amount of the tool rentals from his payment he got abusive. I had to call the cops to escort him off my property.
