After hearing a lot of horror stories about contractors who take advantage of their clients, we were skeptical about hiring any contractor to get our kitchen renovated. My brother-in-law suggested we give Josh from Level Custom Build a call, as he knew them well. It turned out to be the best decision we made. We werent sure about what we wanted; we only knew we wanted a modern functional kitchen. On our first visit with Josh, he took the time to explain all the details to us. He set our expectations for what they were able to do and what was possible. He addressed all our questions and concerns. Here is a team that is extremely skilled, very punctual, clean, pays attention to details, very patient to our numerous changes, provides excellent quality of work, respects our home and took measures to make sure not to damage anything. They take pride in what they do and not just treat you like a number. I was extremely impressed with the app they provided us. This app provides information on dates, what is scheduled when, costs, due dates and pictures everyday of what was completed. Now that to me is truly impressive as it shows how organized and committed, they are towards their clients. We love what they have done with our Kitchen and dining room. Thank you, Al, Josh, Kevin, Jamal and the rest of the team. You guys gave us our Dream Kitchen. PS Shout out to Al for answering your phone every time my wife called you, no matter what time of day it was.

We highly recommend Bevan and the team at Juniper Development Group. We recently completed a renovation that included interior, exterior and structural alterations to our property and our experience was outstanding. The scope included Interior: demo, drywall, flooring, custom doors + Exterior: balcony rebuild, retaining wall reconstruction, stamped concrete, & metal/glass railings. One of the things that stood out was they were always on time, communicated well, and kept the job site tidy, an aspect that both us and our neighbours appreciated. Bevan listened carefully to our ideas and offered helpful advice throughout the project. When unexpected issues arose, like the balcony and roof issue that was discovered, Bevan promptly addressed them, ensuring the repairs were done correctly which can be complicated on 100 year old homes. What impressed us most was the level of care and attention to detail. Bevan managed the project efficiently, keeping us informed daily/weekly and made sure we stayed within budget. Even when a temporary tarp blew off during a storm, they were there within an hour, fixing it in the pouring rain. Overall, our experience with Juniper was excellent. Bevan is a contractor who values communication, integrity, and quality work. We've already referred him to multiple friends/clients. He is now our go-to for everything house related.

Various small jobs- 2 Nov 2025
I hired Greg a couple of years ago for some small jobs around the condo and contacted him again for a couple of new ones - he is always on time, efficient and charges fairly for work. This time he fixed our shower nozzle, repaired a couple of doors and gave me a quick quote on our other bathroom in terms of renovation. He also cleans up after his work so there's no mess. I will hire him again next year when we decide about the bathroom reno.

I recently hired Hydro Home Improvements to rebuild my chimney crown and complete tuck pointing on the chimney, and the results were exceptional. From start to finish, their professionalism and craftsmanship stood out. The team carefully removed the damaged crown, rebuilt it with proper slope and overhang, and used high-quality materials designed to withstand Canadian weather. They also applied a waterproof barrier to ensure long-term protection. Everything was done with precision, and they explained each step so I understood exactly what was being done and why it mattered for the structure of my home. For the tuck pointing, Hydro Home Improvements ground out all the deteriorated mortar joints and refilled them with fresh mortar that matched the original color perfectly. The lines are clean, sharp, and consistent — you can tell the work was done by skilled masons who take pride in their craft. The chimney looks almost brand new, and the structural stability is noticeably improved. They arrived on time, worked efficiently, kept the area clean, and made sure all safety precautions were followed. The crew was respectful, honest, and very knowledgeable about masonry and chimney construction. I’m extremely satisfied with the final result and grateful for the care and detail they put into the job. Job ended up being far larger than gutter cleaning. Drone inspection showed roof damage and further investigation led to seeing water leakage and full replacement including rafters being necessary. MJ was great at communicating and translating the issues to something I could understand. On site team was professional and did great work - they stayed in contact with MJ throughout so he could update me on progress. Job site was kept clean throughout the work - treating my home like their own. While not a lot of reviews are currently on Home Stars other platforms reflect 5 star delivery - which was reassuring during this surprise substantial expense and reinforced using Weather Pro.

I had a great experience working with Grand Building and Contracting Ltd. I hired them to remove and construct a new garage. Adam and his team understood the entire scope of the work. I was provided with a detailed schedule, timelines, and estimate before commencing the project. There was an issue with a city tree on my neighbour's property that had to be dealt with. Other contractors vanished at this point in the project. Adam guided me on what steps I had to take and the necessary paperwork I needed to file with the city over the course of seven months. When the project was finally approved, the trades workers were on time, highly skilled, professional and efficient. Adam was there at the beginning and end of every part of the construction. I greatly appreciated the regular communications I received. He even made sure my neighbours were satisfied with how the construction was effecting them. I can't say enough positive things about Grand Building and Contracting Ltd. I will use them again for my next project. I highly recommend that anyone give them an opportunity; you will not be disappointed.

Maurice and his team went above and beyond. I posted a request for a quote on a Wednesday, and Maurice was one of the roofers who came by very quickly to inspect the roof and offer a quote. After considering which company to hire, I contacted him and we agreed for the work to be done on the following Saturday. A few bits of underlying wood needed replacing, plus the underlay, ice and water shield, shingles, and new vents needed to be installed, among other things. They even added extra brackets to shore up my evestroughs, and added some extra caulking to a completely different part of our roof to extend the life of that section. They accomplished all this in one day! They also cleaned everything up perfectly, took multiple pictures at my request, and offered the best warranty. To say they were thorough is an understatement. Friendly, fast, professional, and our new roof looks fantastic. I highly recommend this company!
