From the first visit, Marcos was professional, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable. He walked us through the issues and offered smart, affordable solutions without any pressure. As someone unfamiliar with construction, I appreciated how he explained everything clearly, helping us manage both cost and risk. I contacted GCR through HomeStars. Derek responded very quickly and provided an initial estimate. He was also very flexible and came over for a detailed estimate on time. He was thorough with his work and even suggested us to use Owen’s cornering which is high quality materials and avoid others. His team arrived on time and completed the job very efficiently all in one day. We lived in a semi detached with our neighbour and so we completed both houses together. His team’s workmanships was quality work and took photos before and after to show us. Their team replaced the plumbing vent flashing as well as replaced our vents with metal for an extra fee. They also did a great job cleaning up. His prices were very reasonable as well. He also provided detail quotes and offered warranty for his job. It’s been 3 months and so far there hasn’t been any issues. I found Derek and his team to be very professional throughout. Overall I would recommend Derek and his team again! Thank you Derek !

D & S Renovations completed my much needed basement renovations due to the floods of 2023. I was able to have open communication on a daily basis. Therefore I knew where the project was at and when to expect trade individuals into my home. They were very flexible with adjustments I requested and let me know of any additional safety issues they discovered along the way. Thanks Rey for your work on the carpet. We had to get the carpet reseamed due to water damage. Rey was reasonable and affordable and he did a great job. The carpet was damaged in one area beyond repair, but he was able to suggest ways to make it look the best possible. He did the work within a few hours of a day. We bought a home that needed significant work in order to fit our entire family comfortably and we wanted to turn the basement into a rentable apartment. We had never owned a home before and knew nothing about the type of work that was needed, nor did we know the regulations. VIP walked us through it all and made the whole process as painless as possible. They renovated a bathroom on the top floor. Added an en-suite bathroom to our master bedroom. Did the flooring, custom made stairs out of the flooring we chose, glass panes and oak bannisters. They took down the walls on the first floor creating a large open concept kitchen/dining room and living room area. They increased the windows and replaced one window with an exit from the dining room onto a deck in the back yard. They added a discreet powder room on the first floor and another one on the split level just below along with a hidden pocket door closet for the washer and dryer. They made an entire basement apartment, with a beautiful bright kitchen, a luxurious bathroom and bedroom. They installed larger windows to add more light, installed potlights and a separate exit. We could not be more pleased with their work. We have now rented out our inspected and approved basement apartment which they have designed in a way that it is completely independent of the rest of our home and feels like an entirely different property. All in all they renovated our entire home and turned our three bedroom, two bathroom, one powder room house into a spacious 5 bedroom, 3 full bathroom and 2 powder room home. The time they spent walking us through the process and being patient with us as we figured out what exactly we wanted, sometimes on the fly my family will always appreciate. The price they gave us was in line with what other companies charged but the care they showed when dealing with us and their attention to detail makes them worth much more. As you can tell my entire family likes the guys at VIP a lot and their work was impeccable. Could not give a more enthusiastic recommendation.Latest review:
