Install or renovate stairs- 11 Jun 2025
We were looking for a provider to make and install oak treads on our stairs. Jose from VDR worked with us to fully understand our needs. During our visit I mentioned that we were replacing about 900 sq ft of carpeted floors on our second level with hardwood and he mentioned that VDR also did hardwood floor installation. We hired VDR for both jobs. Their pricing was fair and competitive and and we were provided with a detailed statement work. Hardwood installation was completed in 2 days and completed about a week after agreeing to work with VDR. The stairs included new oak treads and risers. In total, the work took 4 days - the first day to remove the carpet, tackboard and staples and to measure the existing treads (the treads are not all the same size and some are angled) and then 3 days to install the new treads once they'd been manufactured and stained. We are very happy with the end result.

We had a great experience with this contractor! They refinished our stairs, which had taken a beating from our big dogs, and also replaced our kitchen countertops, sink, and faucet. Everything turned out beautifully—the stairs look brand new, and the kitchen feels completely refreshed. They were polite, easy to work with, and kept everything clean throughout the project. The price was very reasonable, and Arshad was especially nice to deal with—professional, respectful, and always made sure we were happy with the progress. We’re already planning to hire them again for a few smaller projects around the house because the whole experience was so positive. Highly recommend!

My wife and I hired D Jennings Contracting Inc. to complete a renovation project for us. Demar and the team were able to take the remaining unfinished portion of our basement and created 3 amazing individual areas for us; a beautiful 3-piece bathroom, a wonderful laundry room and an extra room which we can use as a formal office. We are so very grateful to the entire D Jennings team. Special thanks go out to Demar, Ricardo, Kimar, Ziggy, Kevin and Justin for their hard work. It was truly a pleasure working with all of them on this project. We are very happy with the results. Removed tiles from my entrance hallway and bathroom and installed new tiling that I had purchased. Jason is a very pleasant man, easy to talk to and deal with. Takes the time to explain what he is doing and how the work is progressing. He is a 1 person operation, very hard working, and able to handle a variety of jobs needed to complete the installation. He promptly removed all debris and cleaned up after. My new tile floor is complete and looks great. The biggest recommendation I can give is that I plan to use Jason again next year for my next project and have already recommended him to other family members for when they might need some work done.

We worked with Mark to re-finish our basement after we had a small flood. This was our first big renovation in our home and needless to say we learned a lot about the process from Mark! The basement was old, and needed a full gut down to the studs which included a full bath renovation, some laundry room work and the main area (insulation, new lighting, new flooring, additional support post installation for future upstairs wall removal, some HVAC). We also had Mark update a powder room on the main floor. From start to finish Mark helped us understand what was happening and made sure we were made aware of things they found when walls were opened up and plumbing and electrical was exposed. All of the sub-contractors were great and showed up on time and when we expected them per Mark, and Mark was very responsive if we contacted him with questions and really went above and beyond to make sure we were happy with the result. The work area was always kept exceptionally clean and was tidied at the end of each work day, which we really appreciated because we were still using the basement for laundry. Overall we have been thrilled with the end result and will be using Mark again to complete our main floor renovation next.
