I met Omer of Green Star Contracting for the first time a week ago. I picked him out of 6 other contractors to put a door at the end of the hallway on the main floor for privacy between me and my tenant. I told him it MUST look professional. He gave me the best quote out of all the contractors and he promised me the price won’t change. What I liked about Omer immediately, and the reason he stood out from the others I spoke to, was that he actually listened, and made sure he understood exactly what we wanted done and what was important to us. I give Omer 10/10 for workmanship, professionalism, friendliness, for staying on budget and for getting the job done on time! We contacted Filadelfia after working with three other contractors we weren't satisfied with. (The first one, a kitchen reno, cut all the ground wires during his install - no idea why. We found out a year later and had to rewire the kitchen. The second turned a month-long job into a 6 month saga. The third built a deck that we had to have fixed only a year later.) Needless to say, I was cautious. You can tell Rodney and his team were going to be different from the second you meet them. People of a certain age will understand what I mean when I say they are about the 'old school' service: They did exactly what they said they were going to do. They quoted and stuck to the quote. They kept their word. They did good work. They were respectful of the neighbours. They finished earlier than they promised. The whole package. Whereas other contractors would send one or two people, disappear for a few days, and then get back to it, there were usually 3 to 6 people from the Filadelfia team onsite the entire time. They wanted to get the job done - and done well - and get on to the next one. That's how I work, and I appreciate it in others. We were initially interested a drywall installation after water damage in our powder room. Dwayne’s approachable attitude and professionalism put us at ease and we trusted him will a full renovation of the powder room. He demonstrated outstanding service, technical expertise, and attention to detail. Dwayne understood our requirements and delivered and exceeded our expectations. The project was completed within budget, with clear communication throughout each phase. It’s rare to find a contractor that combines quality, reliability, and customer service. We look forward to working with Dwayne and the Home Upgraders again and highly recommend them.

The experience we had was absolutely terrible! We DO NOT recommend this company. We've spent over $50,000 and still have an incomplete kitchen. We told Dan at Caledon Renovations, from the very beginning, that we needed the renovation completed as quickly as possible to sell and relocate for work. Dan told us that he could complete the work in 4 weeks. On June 3rd, 2024, demolition began on our whole main floor. Once demolition was complete, no one showed up for 2 weeks. We were constantly told there were issues sourcing product, finally, when he showed up with the floor tile, it was not what we had picked but decided to continue anyway to speed up the renovation. It is now August 7th and it still not done. There were several quality issues that were addressed several times and Dan offered to come back to fix these issues for a 3rd time - we declined. The final straw was when we had a subcontractor show up at our house demanding money or he would place a lean on our house. After speaking to this gentleman, we found out that Dan had not paid him and said it was because we owed money - we were paid up to date. When we told Dan we do not want to work with him because of the trouble he has caused, he offered a refund of $1200 for upper kitchen cabinet doors. Even though we were not satisfied with the refund amount, we agreed. We told him to pick up his sign from our home and give us the refund. That was 6 days ago and we've heard nothing from him.
