I would recommend Kanata Renovations. Although the project dragged out longer than anticipated their work was acceptable but I think given the fact I provided most of the finish materials (other than Mortar,grout, electrical wiring) the pricing could have been better. Mabda (Ben) is a someone you should avoid at all costs. He charged me $350+HST for fixing a sink at a condo I own. I trusted the work would be done and did not follow up to confirm. Buyer beware, the sink was not fixed at all! If he challenges this review, I have receipts showing what I paid, and pictures that show it was never fixed. Stay away!! The best/funniest part is, he flooded my toilet when he was there too just my luck! Read the reviews and don't waste your time. The good ones are probably fake.

The experience we had was absolutely terrible! We DO NOT recommend this company. We've spent over $50,000 and still have an incomplete kitchen. We told Dan at Caledon Renovations, from the very beginning, that we needed the renovation completed as quickly as possible to sell and relocate for work. Dan told us that he could complete the work in 4 weeks. On June 3rd, 2024, demolition began on our whole main floor. Once demolition was complete, no one showed up for 2 weeks. We were constantly told there were issues sourcing product, finally, when he showed up with the floor tile, it was not what we had picked but decided to continue anyway to speed up the renovation. It is now August 7th and it still not done. There were several quality issues that were addressed several times and Dan offered to come back to fix these issues for a 3rd time - we declined. The final straw was when we had a subcontractor show up at our house demanding money or he would place a lean on our house. After speaking to this gentleman, we found out that Dan had not paid him and said it was because we owed money - we were paid up to date. When we told Dan we do not want to work with him because of the trouble he has caused, he offered a refund of $1200 for upper kitchen cabinet doors. Even though we were not satisfied with the refund amount, we agreed. We told him to pick up his sign from our home and give us the refund. That was 6 days ago and we've heard nothing from him. He was very professional came to give me a quote, his price was very good compared to some of the prices that where given too me, and the quality of work was there. Dave does amazing work ,behaving been married to a contractor I can honestly say Dave's work is some of the best I have seen. He repaired a window, cleaned and caulked 6 windows, inspected my crawl space did a few odd jobs he was here for 7 hours and the I feel so much better he gave me peace of mind . We are a 35yr Painting company that specializes in interior painting and finishing. We have been cabinet refinishing for approx 25yrs and only do 5star lacquer finish. We also do bathroom refinishing from full bathroom remodels or shower upgrades. We are a one stop company that does all the work ourselves.
I always try to support local when I can. Unfortunately I did not complete my due diligence and that is on me. However I would like to save the next person who may be tempted to fall for the shoddy work that this Painter finally completed. Len advertised as a local family owned business that had 30 years of experience. He was quick to complete a quote for me and assured me that he had availability that had just opened up and he could complete my job in two to three weeks. This really surprised me as the three other quotes I got said it would probably be about a month before they could start and it would be a six week completion time. ( Red flag #1). The cost was reasonable and a savings of 1500 on the next closest bid. I guess you get what you pay for ( Red flag #2). My next Big Mistake was I paid in full to save another 10% and avoid the tax . I know that was foolish of me but he convinced both myself and my husband that he was an honest local small business. The job was set to start in the midst of the first heat wave of the summer. He phoned and canceled the day he was to start. I was understanding and we postponed by a few days. That was the start of 14 more cancelations over the course of the job. I was very patient and he had many excuses to cover his behind. My 3 week job took 5 months to somewhat complete. The cabinets look nice but the completion was lacking. The backsplash was crooked and we had to get him back to fix. The electric outlet s were not put back on. The silicon around the countertops is crooked. I could go on and on. I think you get the message. Hired AAAHS to repair wall in my basement and was quoted the price. I informed the company that the job would require painting. AAAHS arrived late and proceeded to repair wall. He patched the wall and said his job did not include sanding or painting. I don’t understand why he would think that we would just want the wall repaired and not painted. I pointed out that is not what I wrote in my message and was told he gets thousands of messages a day regarding jobs, so it’s not his problem that he can not keep track of what the job entails. I could have gotten the job done in completion by another person for less money. I was left very confused and angry. This company needs to work on their communication skills and provide proper estimates so the client knows exactly what they are paying for and not be tricked into retaining their service and in the end the job that is completed is incomplete.Latest review:
