Dave does amazing work ,behaving been married to a contractor I can honestly say Dave's work is some of the best I have seen. He repaired a window, cleaned and caulked 6 windows, inspected my crawl space did a few odd jobs he was here for 7 hours and the I feel so much better he gave me peace of mind . I had sam and his crew help my mom renovate her 3 pc bathroom from start to finish. He was very professional came to give me a quote, his price was very good compared to some of the prices that where given too me, and the quality of work was there. I hired them to paint a full house after we finished renovating it. The job was done perfectly. I hired painters quite often, but this time, the protection was applied everywhere, so no mess. He was extremely meticulous and didnt count his hours. I will will hire him again and recommend him very strongly

In our approximately 175 SqFt. bedroom we had 3 ft of wainscoting around the room. We wanted to remove it and have new drywall installed (unfortunately the wainscoting was glued to the wall thus the drywall under it had to be removed). The owner was very friendly. It took him a day (with a helper) to remove the old drywall and install the new one. Here is where the issues occurred: 1) he did not take any of the garbage with him to dispose of, but left a ton of ripped garbage bags outside. When communicating with him before the project I asked (via WhatsApp) if the price included disposal and he said yes. I asked him about this and he thought that my garbage collection would take them. I informed him that garbage collection is every 2 weeks with a 3 bag limit. At that pace it would take a few months to get rid of them. He didn't seem to care and did nothing about it. Off to the dump for me. 2) The electrical outlets are recessed in the drywall and I will need to cut around the hole he made for them in order to access the screws so I can install an extender to bring them back out to level. 3) The job did not include sanding the new drywall at the joints, just the mudding. Are you serious? How can installing new drywall not include sanding the mud that was put on to make it smooth for painting. Plus, only one layer of mud was put on. From the little I know about drywall, you need to put multiple layers of mud on followed bu multiple sandings after in order to get a nice finish. When I asked him about this he said that it would be a painters job to do the sanding. He then offered to do the sanding and painting for an additional fee. I agreed as the price was not too high and I wanted to get this finished. He said it wouldn't take long as he has a 9" circular sanding machine. He said that it would be done the next day. When the next day arrived, I received a call from another individual who said he would be doing the sanding and painting and would be there soon. When he arrived, he had no sanding machine or materials. He didn't even have a paint brush. I asked him about this and he said that the owner told him that I have everything. Well I did have the paint. We both tried calling the owner with no success. Since that other individual was there, we went to a hardware store where I bought $50.00'ish of sanding and painting supplies. That other individual did the job in 4 hrs and it was not bad considering that there was only one layer of mud. But he was not a professional painter as there were lots of paint marks on the ceiling (which I will have to repaint myself) as he didn't use painter's tape. When everything was done, the drywall job itself was not horrible but not great as could see (in certain light) the small bulge around the room where the old drywall meets the new one. Not the perfectly smooth transition that you would want. As for the owner, he still has not responded to my messages.

The owner never fulfilled his commitment. On the scheduled day, he just messaged that his truck has some problem. He sent a letter attached herewith. He showed readiness for reschedule / refund but never fulfilled and stopped taking the phone. His words and action are not matching. He is not responding to phone calls and voice mail. Taking money and not coming for work and then stop receiving calls indicates lots of things about the company / person.

Took on wallpaper ceiling and walls, repaired period homes , tackled new custom homes from 2500 to 6000 to 8000 sq ft in size. I saved many from really bad renos, where managers were switched, I persevere loyal to the client. I only accept jobs I qualify for. I may do carpentry to finish undone tasks ,not compete directly. I plaster in the same logic. I have spray equipment where practical. I typically use ben moore as a quality go to paint, as it suits clients who have high end property. I have a hobby centric knowledge of faux and deco design. I like color although todays homes are white ,,ish. Custom staircases ought to have a serious match to suit the high cost, I use waterbourne Samaan to be versatile. I do not spray cabinets but I will spray built in items and doors/trim in the right situation of planning. My truck is clean but full with tools ,good tools, I strive to be organized efficient attentive to detail and memory. I bring more than enough dropsheets and paper off high use areas. I do not hand mix colorants anymore as the product has evolved past that skill, stains are also store matched for accuracy. Exposure to lost skills teach us how to adapt. Even interior design has been lost to architectual and modern internet tech. I do not believe in perfect,although I do my best to give quality,and promote the appropriate products honestly and without deception I am not a robot . Products I trust have warantees , I follow their advise when possible or practical. The helper or helpers I have are learned , I do not sub any work I am responsible to that end
Drip runs ALL over doors, and trim. Bottom of spindles show drips on hardwood floor. Paint spatter on floors and windows. Areas of trim primed, then not top coated. Pete says he doesn't need tape, but he certainly does. He had done two prior jobs for us and both were done quickly and professionally with great results. This time, it was a holy mess. Hired AAAHS to repair wall in my basement and was quoted the price. I informed the company that the job would require painting. AAAHS arrived late and proceeded to repair wall. He patched the wall and said his job did not include sanding or painting. I don’t understand why he would think that we would just want the wall repaired and not painted. I pointed out that is not what I wrote in my message and was told he gets thousands of messages a day regarding jobs, so it’s not his problem that he can not keep track of what the job entails. I could have gotten the job done in completion by another person for less money. I was left very confused and angry. This company needs to work on their communication skills and provide proper estimates so the client knows exactly what they are paying for and not be tricked into retaining their service and in the end the job that is completed is incomplete.Latest review:Nixson Painting & Renovation

We also do bathroom refinishing from full bathroom remodels or shower upgrades. We are a one stop company that does all the work ourselves.
I always try to support local when I can. Unfortunately I did not complete my due diligence and that is on me. However I would like to save the next person who may be tempted to fall for the shoddy work that this Painter finally completed. Len advertised as a local family owned business that had 30 years of experience. He was quick to complete a quote for me and assured me that he had availability that had just opened up and he could complete my job in two to three weeks. This really surprised me as the three other quotes I got said it would probably be about a month before they could start and it would be a six week completion time. ( Red flag #1). The cost was reasonable and a savings of 1500 on the next closest bid. I guess you get what you pay for ( Red flag #2). My next Big Mistake was I paid in full to save another 10% and avoid the tax . I know that was foolish of me but he convinced both myself and my husband that he was an honest local small business. The job was set to start in the midst of the first heat wave of the summer. He phoned and canceled the day he was to start. I was understanding and we postponed by a few days. That was the start of 14 more cancelations over the course of the job. I was very patient and he had many excuses to cover his behind. My 3 week job took 5 months to somewhat complete. The cabinets look nice but the completion was lacking. The backsplash was crooked and we had to get him back to fix. The electric outlet s were not put back on. The silicon around the countertops is crooked. I could go on and on. I think you get the message. A young fellow came to my condo for this job. This was such a small and simple job, I already removed most of the old caulking, all it need was applying new caulking. I'm not impressed of the finishing details.
