We hired Silverfern to repair 7 large holes in our walls and vaulted ceiling caused by a tree crashing through our roof. Things could not have gone better nor could we be more pleased! Although Declan was hired initially only for flooring, I expanded the scope of the project as he stated he was a GC. I was disappointed with the work. He was onsite for a few minutes some days and late a lot, even though we planned our meetings around my work schedule. The flooring/stairs was below standards I would expect from other contractors I worked with. Top nosing broke and tenant fell. He didn't even respond to texts or offer repair. He eventually agreed to refund 25% owing on the flooring as I would need to get someone else in to fix this but he never refunded this back. His subcontractor came 3 times and did not fix the stairs. Left the stairs unglued with my tenant's mover and my handyman tripping and falling. Ikea kitchen installer he hired left all boxes thrown in a closet. I was told that as he did not buy the kitchen, he did not have to dispose of them. Came back and cleaned poor grout lines and some grout was even missing. Left open drywall behind stove (not code).

We are very happy with our small bathroom renovation. Erik did an amazing job. As our home is a little older there were many challenges, older plumbing, floor thickness and I'm sure others that he didn't mention, and Erik's experience allowed him to find creative solutions which were also estetically pleasing. Our job grew considerably as we went along and Erik and I worked together to manage the scope and budget. The tiles were installed with precision. I also appreciated that Erik explained things in laymans terms when I had questions. Very dependable and worked well with my schedule as I work from home. We would definitely hire Erik again for future projects.
