Art is an excellent drywaller. If you are looking for a first rate drywall job I highly recommend JRV Drywall. I recently did some light valances with JRV and they did an excellent job of framing and boarding. A true pleasure to tape behind these guys.

Our basement flooded in July of 2024 during the big rainstorm. We had to pay to have the carpet torn out and the drywall cut away - all the things you have to do to remediate water damage. That was the easy part. Then we had to put it back together. We had experience with this when a prior flood caused by a leaking water heater resulted in similar damage. The company we hired to fix it was the same one we used to remediate, and this was a mistake, because they would come to do the repair and almost every day would have to leave to tend to a flooding emergency. As a result the project took forever to complete. After checking reviews on HomeStars and getting some estimates we decided to go with Toronto City Contracting for the repair this time. The owner Rubens came by promptly to provide a very competitive and detailed estimate, and promised that the work would be done well and on time. He was true to his word. The crew was very hard working, polite and efficient. Rubens was a calm and confident presence who communicated very well throughout, and the estimate was honoured to the penny. We contacted Filadelfia after working with three other contractors we weren't satisfied with. (The first one, a kitchen reno, cut all the ground wires during his install - no idea why. We found out a year later and had to rewire the kitchen. The second turned a month-long job into a 6 month saga. The third built a deck that we had to have fixed only a year later.) Needless to say, I was cautious. You can tell Rodney and his team were going to be different from the second you meet them. People of a certain age will understand what I mean when I say they are about the 'old school' service: They did exactly what they said they were going to do. They quoted and stuck to the quote. They kept their word. They did good work. They were respectful of the neighbours. They finished earlier than they promised. The whole package. Whereas other contractors would send one or two people, disappear for a few days, and then get back to it, there were usually 3 to 6 people from the Filadelfia team onsite the entire time. They wanted to get the job done - and done well - and get on to the next one. That's how I work, and I appreciate it in others. Need to start off by saying, wow! Errol and his team were absolutely fantastic. We had a pretty specific request to add wood matching our fence to our metal railings to make it safe for kids in the backyard, along with a gate at the bottom of the stairs. Errol came with clear, creative, aesthetic ideas and was very ready and responsive! We couldn’t be happier with the outcome, it’s more beautiful than we could’ve even imagined! And the team did it all within a day, including adding a step at the front, at a very reasonable price. Thank you so much!!!! Look forward to working together again!

This was our 3rd project with Vitor from Voxel Builds (see previous reviews). When we were ready to build our dream house there was no question who we'd use. When you invest your entire life's savings into a project, there's several factors you need from a contractor... 1. The quality of the craftsmanship. 2. Someone you can trust, as there will always be surprises and you need to know you're not being taken advantage of. 3. Someone you can work with, as it's a true partnership. 4. Someone who's motivated to get the job done in a timely manor. Victor and his team are 10/10 in all these categories. He's been working with his guys for many years (sometimes decades) and you can see the mutual respect. Vitor is a hands on guy who'll be onsite ensuring the project is done to the highest standards every step of the way. He's always willing to have you involved and educate you through the process, which I appreciated. What does all this equate to? You can trust him. He quoted us knowing that we had the spare floor pieces. When we checked, it was wrong pieces. He searched multiple days for the correct flooring pieces. At the end he didn't asked for more money even he spent at least 5 more hours for us. He is very focused on completing the job. He does a very good job. You can tell he has a decades of experience.
