RayS Homes saved me in the crazy days after so many basements flooded in Toronto in July 2024. For our flood, my insurance company worked with only two contractors and these were so busy that they took a month and a half to provide an estimate and then would not answer the phone to allow me to offer them the work. So I turned to RayS Homes. Even though very busy themselves, Raymond was extremely responsive and provided me with his own very professional quote within 24 hours. He agreed to start the work within a week and arrived on time to get going. He and his very competent, skilled and agreeable team stuck with the project until it was completed not much more than two weeks later. The quality of work was excellent, the timeliness much appreciated, and the overall experience of dealing with them was superb. We contacted Filadelfia after working with three other contractors we weren't satisfied with. (The first one, a kitchen reno, cut all the ground wires during his install - no idea why. We found out a year later and had to rewire the kitchen. The second turned a month-long job into a 6 month saga. The third built a deck that we had to have fixed only a year later.) Needless to say, I was cautious. You can tell Rodney and his team were going to be different from the second you meet them. People of a certain age will understand what I mean when I say they are about the 'old school' service: They did exactly what they said they were going to do. They quoted and stuck to the quote. They kept their word. They did good work. They were respectful of the neighbours. They finished earlier than they promised. The whole package. Whereas other contractors would send one or two people, disappear for a few days, and then get back to it, there were usually 3 to 6 people from the Filadelfia team onsite the entire time. They wanted to get the job done - and done well - and get on to the next one. That's how I work, and I appreciate it in others. Metro specializes in attic insulation work, providing services for both installation and removal. We are part of the "Home Performance Contractor Network Group" and our clients are able to claim all government rebate available for insulation upgrades.
I was ripped off by the builder of my newish home. He only put insolation where an inspector would look and left at least 50% of my attic with little to no insolation. Our upper floor has always been much colder than the main. Metro came and promptly gave me a quote which was the best price I could find. 2 weeks later they arrived early and blew in lots of insolation. It took only an hour or so. They cleaned up after themselves and I immediately felt the difference. We went from R10 to R50. No more cold upstairs and the rest of the house is noticeably warmer with no more cold spots. I highly recommend Metro.
