The experience we had was absolutely terrible! We DO NOT recommend this company. We've spent over $50,000 and still have an incomplete kitchen. We told Dan at Caledon Renovations, from the very beginning, that we needed the renovation completed as quickly as possible to sell and relocate for work. Dan told us that he could complete the work in 4 weeks. On June 3rd, 2024, demolition began on our whole main floor. Once demolition was complete, no one showed up for 2 weeks. We were constantly told there were issues sourcing product, finally, when he showed up with the floor tile, it was not what we had picked but decided to continue anyway to speed up the renovation. It is now August 7th and it still not done. There were several quality issues that were addressed several times and Dan offered to come back to fix these issues for a 3rd time - we declined. The final straw was when we had a subcontractor show up at our house demanding money or he would place a lean on our house. After speaking to this gentleman, we found out that Dan had not paid him and said it was because we owed money - we were paid up to date. When we told Dan we do not want to work with him because of the trouble he has caused, he offered a refund of $1200 for upper kitchen cabinet doors. Even though we were not satisfied with the refund amount, we agreed. We told him to pick up his sign from our home and give us the refund. That was 6 days ago and we've heard nothing from him. I had several contractors attend the house to assess the needed work for an outdoor water line that burst during the winter and provide a quote. Drain Works stood out amongst others due to their thorough communication during scheduling and their detailed written quotation. JP oversaw the scheduling and Armando was the plumber who provided the quote and completed the work. Unlike other companies, their quote detailed all work to be completed and outlined three options. This left no unanswered questions and provided a written commitment of the work. Their pricing was competitive and the work was well done and completed promptly. Fantastic experience, look no further. I had Enercare come in and tell me I needed a new furnace because I had a crack in my heat exchanger, tagged the furnace as unusable, they even showed me a picture on his phone. I requested quotes through HomeStars for a new furnace and Richard called me back. He was very thorough and honest. He asked how the crack was diagnosed, and after telling him he said that didn't seem right. I had him come in to give a second opinion for $200. I watched as he opened up the furnace, take pictures, look through the scope etc. No crack to be found. Enercare had shown me an old picture. Richard even fixed the humidifier that was installed incorrectly, gave me some helpful hints and tips, and removed the tag. Richard is a friendly and outgoing individual who saved me thousands with his honesty. After connecting with Drain Com on Homestars, Maria reached out to coordinate a time for them to come by to provide an estimate. They were able to come quickly at a time that worked for us. They arrived at the scheduled time, quickly assessed the issue, and provided an estimate in the middle of the expected price range. We set up a day for them to come that worked for us. They arrived on time, completed the work quickly (a few hours ahead of promised), tidied up really well, and left. They share pictures of the various stages of the work they had completed. They had to dig up the concrete floor, replace the pipe and pour more concrete. The area where they were working is behind the water heater so no one will see it, but I appreciated that they finished the job so neatly and with care.
