You've changed, HomeStars, you're no longer the website we fell in love with 11 years ago, and it's time for us to part. Homeowners-HomeStars changed it's model in late January from being a mutually beneficial website for homeowners and contractors, which it's been since at least 2014 when we joined, into a "lead buying" website who's model no longer serves the best interests of homeowners or ethical contractors, in our opinion, and we've cancelled our subscription as a result. I presume we'll continue to show up on here until their 60 day cancellation policy clocks out (which is a bitter pill to swallow in and of itself, as any of their subscribers who signed up before 2025 signed up for a completely different service than has been recently forced on us, but are apparently still bound to said 60 day cancellation polity), but our days here are numbered (literally; 59 more to go).
