Tuck Pointing

Anonymous user 10/10/2025 - 10:24 AM

We are looking for a tuck pointing contractor to repair gaps in the brick of a detached century old house - we wanted to confirm as to whether they colour of the older mortar can be matched so that the repairs are not as visible on the brick -

Are you a pro and able to answer this question?

Yes, the colour of the existing mortar can be matched very closely. When doing tuck pointing, I use small test samples first to ensure the new mortar blend matches both the colour and texture of the original joints. This includes adjusting the mix with natural pigments and matching the sand grain size. Once the match is confirmed, the repairs blend in very well and are barely noticeable on the brickwork. If you’d like, I can come by to inspect the area and prepare a small sample to show the match before starting the work.

Absolutely. We add colors to blend into the existing mortar so as not to take away the look of your home. We also make sure to keep cement off the brick.
