Do you install door frames before or after applying drywall plaster?

I've completely gutted two rooms and need to have them redone with new drywall and door frames. To get the best finish, should I install the drywall first to have smooth surfaces to work with or should I put in the door frames first so the drywall can be fitted up to them?
