Backyard butchered by Astrero General Services I hired Michael Astrero based on his great reviews. I asked for 3 simple fixes: lower my backyard steps to code, level a sloped area and reduce a fence gap. Instead, he did whatever he wanted and left my yard a disaster. He stained and splashed cement all over my best stone slabs that were not to be touched, broke several stones while forcing them into place, installed broken pieces, and painted the stairs bleck to cover tons of glue and cement he used, when I asked for natural stone. Cemente and stain was spashed on my new fence and decorative stones were ruined. I paid $ 5,821.98 including the extra materials he damaged, and he refused to give me the receips. I felt pressured and intimidated throughout. My backyard now needs a full redo. This was not professional work. I'm persuing legal action and want others to be warned. He completely miss represented his abilities and should not be doing masony work.

We were experiencing some water damage on our kitchen ceiling as a result of leaking coming from the balcony floor (flat roof) directly above. After receiving dramatically different quotes/opinions from several roofing companies, we had the good fortune of having Stepan come to our property. After carefully inspecting the balcony, Stepan patiently explained that the issue from our balcony was almost certainly a result of some gaps in the caulking, which we should rule out before diving into a bigger and more expensive repair. Stepan took care of this for us on the spot. He asked me to keep an eye on the issue and if there were any further problems, to contact him. I had asphalt shingles replace for my semi detached house. My neighbor decided to have it done as well; so, the job became larger. The crew did a great job. They were fast and efficient. I felt that the company was honest and provided great value for money. I contacted GCR through HomeStars. Derek responded very quickly and provided an initial estimate. He was also very flexible and came over for a detailed estimate on time. He was thorough with his work and even suggested us to use Owen’s cornering which is high quality materials and avoid others. His team arrived on time and completed the job very efficiently all in one day. We lived in a semi detached with our neighbour and so we completed both houses together. His team’s workmanships was quality work and took photos before and after to show us. Their team replaced the plumbing vent flashing as well as replaced our vents with metal for an extra fee. They also did a great job cleaning up. His prices were very reasonable as well. He also provided detail quotes and offered warranty for his job. It’s been 3 months and so far there hasn’t been any issues. I found Derek and his team to be very professional throughout. Overall I would recommend Derek and his team again! Thank you Derek !
