Tim and the Sunny Garden crew did a terrific job. We hired them to remove our old bricks in the backyard and replace them with new pavers. They also replaced the bricks on our backyard porch and replaced them with natural stone. They also leveled the area so it's not sloping onto our neighbor's property. In the front of the house they replaced the old brick steps with natural stone steps. They also installed armour stones and new sod across the front yard. They started on time and completed the job as per the schedule. Sunny Garden did a great job -- highly recommended.

Andrei is a true gem. He is respectful, knowledgeable, and a very experienced expert in his field. My skylights were installed by an amateur contractor 10 years ago and they were failing. I asked for a quote for the following: • Remove shingles around skylights • Install ice & water shield • Install new step + apron flashing system • Re-shingle and seal Andrei provided a timely quote and quickly came on site to view my roof and point out all areas of concern. I agreed with his quote and he ordered the needed parts. He reached out when the materials arrived. With his quality installation and 10 year warranty on his work, I’m put at ease. He went above and beyond by sealing a drywall corner gap and advised me on how to prevent rodents from getting into my roof, when I asked him. With his over 20 years experience, I’m very satisfied as a customer.

Outstanding Work, Great Value, and Amazing Vibes – Highly Recommend JME! Jamie stood out from the start. He gave me the most competitive quote on the market, well below what others were asking. Super professional, polite, and friendly throughout. He came by to do the estimate, gave a firm price, and stuck to it. On the job day, he and his partner showed up on time and got straight to work. They were fast but paid attention to every detail – consulting with me along the way. My cousin, an independent contractor, did a quality check and was very impressed with both the work and the team. The front deck turned out amazing – done quickly, priced fairly, and finished to a high standard. If I ever need anything else around the house, I’ll absolutely call Jamie again. We had engaged with Alex in July of 2021 to help prepare drawings, designs and submissions required to obtain a building permit from the City. The scope of work was to include: - Arrange for permits on behalf of the owner - Act on behalf of the owner regarding any and all matters having to do with the work - Prepare required documentation for formal submission to city planning - If required, prepare Committee of Adjustment documentation - Prepare final working drawings needed to obtain building permit From the start of engagement there was significant delays in moving forward. Weeks at a time where there would be limited contact and lack of response by email/text/phone. We were given some reasons/excuses that delays were due to personal situations but things would be back on track once they were sorted out. Things progressed although slowly. When receiving drawing drafts and reviewing them as well as providing back comments to update, the time in between revisions took between a few days to a few weeks. The final drawings were completed in Oct approx 3 months after engagement. There were also things we had to ask for twice, that he said was changed but then the drawings were not actually updated. Not to mention trying to get the files sent to us were a pain as well as they always seemed to get "stuck in my outbox". We were told the building permit application went in promptly thereafter but did not receive anything further until the end December - for an authorization form with the city which was provided back from us Jan 2nd, 2022. Later we found out the City only received the permit application on Feb 16th. They had committed to provide comments back before End of March, and they did. It has now been almost 2 months since then and we cannot get a hold of Alex to even let us know what needs to be done next. Many many calls and emails and texts have been sent but he is unresponsive. The architectural work was sub-contracted by Alex to someone, who was on the permit application, and in communicating with them it seems Alex is not even responding back to his own sub-contract trade either. Our payment agreement specified 50% up front, balance on completion of permit ready drawings. Drawings which we did receive, therefore payment has been made in full. However, we have no permit, and are stuck without the ability to keep moving forward. The Job that we hired Balmbuilt for was to obtain the building permits based on the design specification. This has not been completed. A complaint to the BBB has already been submitted as well. Next step will be to file a claim in SCC. Terrible experience. Our expectations are that professionals will deliver to their word, and if for any reason they cannot that there be some acknowledgement and compensation.

Izzy was great to work with after hiring him to install 6 doors of custom height and 1 pre-hung door. He was very personable and knowledgeable. He gave me a tip that even though I bought primed doors, it was always good to apply 1-2 coats of primer before painting. He even helped fix a door upstairs that shifted and was rubbing against the casing. Also he worked well with my schedule and came over on a Friday afternoon so I can use the weekend to clean the basement. He gave me a reasonable quote, and didn't make up excuses to charge more after. I would suggest giving an option to clients to dab the trim holes, I didn't think it was a big deal to do it myself but doing 7 doors double sided was a bit of a pain and would have paid for that to be included lol!
