Alex and the team completed an entire home renovation for us including 4 washrooms, brand new kitchen, hardwood flooring throughout, new trim and doors throughout and much more. We cannot say enough about how satisfied we are not only with the work completed, but the high level of professionalism carried out for the entire project. The project did go over the timeline scheduled however many changes were made along the way to the scope and we felt the team managed and handled the project wonderfully. We tried them out against quotes from 3 other companies and they weren't the highest price or the lowest but upon speaking to Alex and going through their portfolio and speaking to a few of their references, the choice was clear. I contacted Groundworks (formerly Clarke Basement Authority) as I was looking for a company to encapsulate my crawl space. Beginning with the initial meeting with Chris (quoted the job) to completion, the project ran smoothly. Lucio, Tai and Carter were the onsite crew that completed the work. They displayed a high level of organization, were professional, polite and had an excellent work ethic. I had several questions during the quote process and when the job was underway. The responses were always prompt and the time was taken to explain to me the project and how the work was being completed. Lucio, Tai and Carter kept the work area contained and were extremely tidy and respectful of my home. Throughout each day, Lucio provided me with regular updates that included pictures at various stages of the project. Lucio is an excellent project leader and that is reflected in the way the team worked together. I would recommend this team and Groundworks for crawl space work.

Sayed was initially very responsive and offered a competitive price, and we hired him after gathering several quotes. On the day of the job he brought a worker whom he had to instruct in the basics of how to complete each task, after which left he the worksite for most of the day. This in itself may not have been a problem, but the end result was a significant one. The professional standard for installing pavers is to grade the stones away from the home, to avoid water collection against the home and its foundation. Instead the pavers angled toward the house, which cause water to collect against the house whenever it rains, risking water entry and damage. We now do have water entry, and repairs to make as a result. Moreover, the installation was not properly sealed, and since the beginning we have had the sand bed coming up through the cracks. After multiple attempts to reach Sayed to come take a look and see if this can be repaired he has not answered.

I called rustic root stump when I was away on vacation and was about to return home, but I knew we had gotten a big dump of snow. I asked him to drive over to my house to see how much snow there was, there was a couple of feet and he sent me an image to show me. I asked him if he could please shovel it before I got home so we could get into the house. He did a great job I was totally happy.

We first called Fairney and Sons in April, 2024 regarding a small flood at the front of our basement. Bill arrived very promptly and gave us his verdict on the probable cause. We have had a fair amount of work done to address this issue a few years ago, but were never really satisfied with the company that we used. After some extensive discussion and consultation, we decided to go along with Bill's recommendations. The work was completed within a matter of a few days. The tradesmen were always on time, careful about clean up, polite and friendly. We were more than satisfied and went ahead with plans to renovate our bathroom sometime in November, using Fairney and Sons people. In July we found that we had more water in our basement. But this time at the back of the house, again in an area that had supposedly been sealed by the same, unnamed company that we had the misfortune to use before. We called Bill and he arrived promptly and arranged for work to proceed to solve this new issue. Unfortunately, our wooden deck had to be removed in order for the work to be completed on the back wall. Fairney and Sons came through with an excellent team of tradesmen and build us a lovely new deck as well as finally solving our basement water problems. In August we were faced with another water issue. Our bathroom began leaking water into our kitchen which we had renovated a few years ago at some considerable cost. Needless to say, we called Bill back and asked if he might move our bathroom renovation forward. He rearranged some of his work teams schedules and had a crew in by early October. We worked closely with Adam and Trevor as they guided us through the various stages of the transformation. Plumbers and tilers came by, all when they were scheduled to arrive. The work was completed efficiently and expertly. Everybody that we met that was associated with Fairney and Sons was very professional, respectful and a delight to have in our house. As part of the bathroom renovation, a vent had to be hooked up through our roof. Upon inspection it was pointed out that our chimney was in sore need of repair. We already knew about this and asked if Fairney and Sons could solve that problem as well, which, of course they could and did. This had been a bad summer for us, in terms of household distress. However, we feel very fortunate that we answered that flyer that was dropped in our mailbox all those months ago. Everybody associated with this company is reliable, friendly and professional. We certainly hope that we don't need their services in the future, but if we do, they will get the call. We highly recommend Fairney and Sons Ltd. for all of your home repair needs. 'Deep was terrific! His enthusiasm and his persistence helped us get the job done! My simple installation of 3 ikea cabinets, was not as simple as I thought. Our first challenge was removing an ancient trash compactor, followed by the need to tailor the IKEA cabinets to fit the space. Deep's woodworking skills came in handy as well as his experience installing IKEA cabinets. I highly recommend him. Before and after photos attached
