Airmakers were the first to respond. They came promptly, inspected my furnace, said it was old but in good shape, said they made some adjustments to make it more efficient. So far satisfaction. But while the temperature outside rose, the house was noticeably colder, and the furnace noisier. It is unable to maintain the set temperature; it drops as low as 17, and then may take more than an hour to reach my set 22. After 3 weeks of this, I contacted the office. The manageress was not interested. She would send someone out only if I paid another $89. As her first comment was "How old is your furnace," I suspected that I would be told that I needed a new furnace, in spite of being told 3 weeks before that it was working well.
