    Renovation / window replacement

    Very thorough salesman and staff. Windows came in exactly when promised and we're very happy with the final product!

    Sunroom

    My husband and I have dreamed about expanding our home living space for many years, but neither of us could decide on how or what to do, and of course the cost. It was Lifestyles Home Products; that's when we made our decision as to how we were going to expand our living space. Our sales rep Mike D. from Georgetown Ontario listened to what we we're looking for and made it possible. Mike was informative, creative and made wonderful suggestions which fit with our needs to expand the living space. Mike's knowledge and expertise made it all happen!     Window replacement 3 of 7

    Window replacement Further to my initial review, I now thought it best to do another based on the performance. I thought I would be able to change the rating to a 5 star but I have to be completely honest. It still remain Zero! Especially after the company is disputing that I am in fact a "paying customer", what an audacity! I had replaced several windows in November 2016. After the first complaint about the condensation issues (below) which I was told is due to humidity levels in the home. I have since measured my humidity levels with those of my neighbours and they are roughly the same however I see no condensation on my neighbours windows. The owner, Bill was in contact with me but I honestly believe he was mainly involved to ensure he got paid for the balance of the money owing. He called a few times around the death of my father in law; I had not responded with urgency but having listened to the hostile voice message, "going to send his sales man to my house to collect the cheque that evening". I realized they had no intention of helping or offering any discount or compensation for the lifetime of problems I will continue to experience. I called and inform them they could collect payment. I wanted nothing else to do with this company. They've not followed up since payment was received in full, as expected! I believe a company should be honest with their customers and disclose any issues that may arise from the installation of windows. This was not the case, I was only told after the fact, that I could also have condensation on the outside of my windows in the summer. No surprise there! What an amazing view! :(:( (picture below) My advice to anyone considering any new installation, be cautious, be informed, do your own research to ask all the right questions before proceeding. I would never use or recommend Lifestyle Home Products to anyone! I remain very frustrated and disappointed.. ............................................................. Our old windows had started to condense and become drafty in 2014 when the gas leaked out. We tried everything including caulking, plastic wrap, etc but nothing seemed to work so we decided to get quotes from 3-4 different window companies to replace them. We were referred to lifestyle Home Products by a neighbour in the same area. The cost was between the low and high end quotes from two other companies and with our sales rep, an expert in his field sold us on the quality of the product, service and assured me that our condensation issues would be solved with their new high- efficiency double/triple pane low e-argon gas windows. I was looking forward to brand new windows that don't have to be wiped, would save on hydro cost and make the house warmer. Bill and Adam did an incredible job installing the 3 windows in November 2016 with the other 4 scheduled for the Spring. I was happy with the work done and they cleaned up afterwards, thumbs up for them! Long story short, the new windows started to CONDENSE within a week of being installed and at a temp of 5 degrees Celsius; and with colder days ahead, it was bound to get worse, it's deja-vu all over again! I called our sales rep, he was considerate enough to come over and take a look, it was shocking, he was puzzled, never seen or heard of this before. He advised me to send pictures and start a correspondence with the company which I did immediately telling them of the condensation problem. I was then told it could be high levels of humidity in the house that may be causing the problem. Bryan was scheduled to do the test, humidity was between 35-38% he says he wishes he could do miracles, but there's nothing that can be done". With a small balance outstanding to the company, resolution is required before payment is complete. This is very disappointing, frustrating and unacceptable for a company that advertises and confirms that their "Rubberized “Super Spacer” seals to prevent condensation, mold, and heat transfer". I am faced with this on-going problem of condensation that I have to wipe daily. I would very much like the problem rectified as soon as possible and I do believe there is a defect with the window as there are gaps along the super spacer seal. I am asking lifestyle for their immediate assistance and look forward to better functionality, replacement or repair of same. Keep you all posted of the results.. and hoping to change this review rating to 5...

    Good Afternoon! While I can definitely understand and sympathize with your frustration, our service technician's inspection revealed no issues with either the windows nor the installation. As per our email, you will find attached several charts which show that the humidity level for temperatures from -10 to 0 degrees should only be approximately around 25%. Also included are the links from which the charts were found. Please note, the amount of relative humidity is also based on the temperature of the house. The lower you keep you indoor temperature, the higher you can have your humidity before you will experience condensation. If your indoor temperature is higher than the temperature the charts are based on, than you have to maintain a lower level of humidity. In other words, a house with a temperature of 68 degrees can handle a higher humidity than a house heated to 71 degrees. New windows would solve the problem of condensation if it was being caused by air leaks around the windows. However, if the condensation is being caused by high humidity (as seems to be the case here) then new windows would not solve that issue, as they do not contribute to the amount of humidity within the home. As each room can experience different levels of humidity it is not at all unusual for some windows within a home to condensate while others do not. There are a number of factors that affect humidity, as well as the temperature of the window glass itself (for example, if you have a heat vent below a window, if curtains are consistently drawn across the window, if the door to the room is always kept closed). All these items will change the humidity level and air temperature of an individual room within the same house and can either cause or prevent condensation from occurring on a particular window. In regards to the seal of the window, if there was a seal failure, you would be experiencing condensation in between the panes of glass as well. When a seal fails, it allows the gas to escape and allows moisture into the sealed unit. From the pictures provided, and from the service technician’s inspection there appears to be no seal failure on the windows. The use of dehumidifiers can be tricky. Their effectiveness can be hampered by placement. Most portable dehumidifiers only have a certain range and will only eliminate moisture in a set surrounding area. If the moisture problem is widespread, one dehumidifier may not solve the problem. Also, if it reads the moisture level of the surrounding air as being below the level set, it will no longer extract moisture from the air. So while the air around the dehumidifier reads as below the set level, the air in a different area will still have a high humidity level. There are numerous websites that offer advice on how to lower your home’s humidity in order to lower the amount of condensation you may experience. If you would like, we could put together a package for you or just email you some links if that is easier. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us directly.     steel roof, gutters, three replacement windows

    work was done by three crews, young and knowledgeable, worked in a safe manner excellent roof profile, larger gutters, windows with trim giving the appearance of "bigger" than before site clean up appreciated,

    New front door

    All around great experience. From picking out my door with Julie to the install with Dan, this was an effortless process for me. My door was ready in far less time than I expected and the scheduling staff were very organized. My door is beautiful. Thank you Lifestyle!

    Windows

    Company stands behind their product. Did not feel need to shop around as good warranty and great salesman Hassan. Will go back to them for our downstairs windows next year. Looking forward to no drafts this winter!

    Four Season Sunroom

    We saw an add in our local paper that Lifestyle Sun Rooms was looking for model homes. We met with their salesperson Robert. He was very friendly, knowledgeable about the product, and was not at all pushy. He was patient as we talked through the details and answered all our questions. The office staff handled the drawings and the permits for us, which greatly reduced our stress. Debbie in the office was quick to respond to any questions or concerns. Our installers, Matt and Phil, put in long days and even finished the job on a Saturday, in pouring rain, freezing cold and wind, to ensure it was done. The install took less than one week. It looks beautiful and we are able to heat a 220 square foot room with just a small space heater. Not bad for a north facing, windy exposure! As with most construction jobs, things took a little longer than expected but staying in touch and being reasonable and realistic made what could be a bumpy road with a major project much smoother. We will see how it weathers the winter but I feel I could recommend this company and their product with confidence.

    Patio roof and window coverings

    We purchased a metal patio roof and window coverings from lifestyle and had negative experiences with both. When we purchased the roof we were quoted approx. 2-3 weeks for install but it took them 8 weeks to complete. When they delivered the roof system it was the wrong colour which I identified prior to install saving them install cost. The salesman for the roof system would not even show up to pick up the cheque as he knew we were angry. The same timelines for the window coverings I am now in week 10 and have not gotten all my window coverings installed after being quoted 4-6 weeks. The communication in this company is absolutely ridiculous, we had to follow up to get install times and stay on top of it due to a couple of no shows. We would not recommend lifestyle.

    Triple Pane Patio Door

    Multiple Window Replacement

    Let me tell you why we chose Lifestyle Home Products to replace our windows and why we are very happy we did. We had been thinking about replacing some windows for a few years. Each time we had someone come in, either their quote was simply unrealistic for our budget or worse, they were very unprofessional in their approach. That all changed when Hassan Zaidi from Lifestyle Home Products knocked on our door. Hassan was doing some prospecting in our neighbourhood. Although young, he was very professional in his manner and approach and as we found through the process, was quite knowledgeable about the product he represented. He did a very thorough inspection and measuring of the windows we wanted replaced, he provided multiple options, demonstrated samples of his product and gave us a very competitive quote. After doing some thorough research of Lifestyle we discovered they were a very solid, Canadian company and rated quite highly on sites such as Homestars with wonderful references. We immediately agreed to proceed and paperwork was processed quickly by Hassan and any changes acknowledged quickly and followed up in writing. Their scheduling department at home office was very pleasant to deal with and the official measuring up was booked and executed on time and quite quickly. Our windows arrive AHEAD of schedule (what a novel change for the renovation industry). The installer, Chris, arrived spot on time (after calling ahead), was clearly very skilled and knowledgeable about his craft, not to mention very friendly & polite and happy to chat as he worked, explaining what he was doing. Hassan also attended for some time during the process to take pictures and ensure we were happy and comfortable with the process. 3 hrs after arriving, the windows were installed, properly sealed, very substantial and beautiful molding put in place and a tour of their features provided by the installer. The installation team was very respectful of our significant gardens while installing and left our property very clean, inside and out. In short, the end to end process was a pleasure to engage in and best of all, we have wonderful new windows that look sharp and work fabulously. Hassan was professional from start to finish. He may be young, but he clearly is knowledgeable and honest. Chris the installer couldn’t have been better. He clearly knew his stuff. I don’t recommend companies as a rule. What my requirements are, what my standards are may be different from others. However, I am happy to make an exception here and give Lifestyle a promotion. The fact that I rated them only 4 as a recommendation is more due to my initial comment. We loved them but others may have different criteria/standards. What I can tell you is, they are professional, provide competitive pricing for the product and are worthy of your consideration for your home reno project.
