I am writing this email on behalf of my parents-in-law. They bought a Samsung refrigerator back in Sept 2015 for $2,500. It was delivered to their new house in November 2015. In March of this year (2019), my in-laws noticed that the fridge was making an unusual noise. The freezer, icemaker and fridge were all working fine but it continued to make an unusual noise. PLEASE KEEP IN MIND... THE REFRIGERATOR IS THREE YEARS AND 4 MONTHS OLD AT THIS POINT. My mother-in-law decided to call Samsung customer service to express her concern. Samsung recommended ARS Repair and Installation Services Inc. ARS sent out a repairman to assess and try to repair the problem with the noise. In his first of FIVE visits, the repairman found a blockage in the drain hose. He ordered a "water leakage kit" which he installed in his second visit. The two visits combined cost my in-laws $303.10. Less than 4 weeks later, the unusual noise was still there. The repairman came back on his third visit and said he had to come back to "change the settings on the board". On his fourth visit, the repairman "enhanced the defrost function", asked my in-laws to keep monitoring it and went on his merry way. At this point, the unusual noise of the refrigerator reoccured and new problems arose which weren't there at the beginning!!! The freezer and icemaker were still working. HOWEVER, the water which comes from the dispenser wasn't cold enough, and the fridge wasn't getting cold. The repairman came for the fifth and final time and made the following assessment on the service order..
- He said that he did not find any noise when he arrived
- He said that he checked the fan and it was working ok.
- He said he checked the dispenser and it was working ok.
- He said he found the temperature set at 7C degree.
- He said that he corrected the temperature setting to 3C degree and noticed the temperature began going down to normal.
-He told my in-laws that for the noise issue, there was nothing more he could do and he advised my in-laws to call Samsung customer service and notify them that the fridge was unrepairable.
Anyone that has a brain will realize what happened here... THE REPAIRMAN BROKE THE FRIDGE AND DIDN'T TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR IT!!!!! REMEMBER IN HIS THIRD VISIT HE SAID HE HAD TO COME BACK AND "CHANGE THE SETTINGS ON THE BOARD" AND WHEN HE DID COME BACK HE "ENHANCED THE DEFROST FUNCTION" THIS IS WHEN HE DAMAGED THE FRIDGE!!! THE REPAIRMAN TRIED TO BLAME MY IN-LAWS FOR SETTING THE TEMPERATURE INCORRECTLY!! THEY HAD THIS FRIDGE FOR A LITTLE OVER THREE YEARS... THEY KNEW HOW TO SET THE TEMPERATURE OF THE FRIDGE.
My in-laws are retired, in their 70s and have heart and arthritis issues BUT they're both still sharp as a whip. They have been taken advantage of by ARS services!!! This issue has caused them undue stress and anxiety. They have had to use the basement fridge all this time!! The ARS repairman broke the fridge, took their money and left them to fend for themselves without a fridge!!! ARS have no empathy for senior citizens!! ARS repair and installation services inc is a HEARTLESS, INSENSITIVE, CORRUPT and CROOKED business!!
IF ARS HAS ANY INTEGRITY AT ALL, THEY WILL RETURN THE MONEY THEY TOOK FROM MY IN-LAWS, TAKE FULL RESPONSIBILITY FOR DAMAGING THE FRIDGE, REPORT THEIR MISTAKE DIRECTLY TO SAMSUNG AND REPLACE THEIR FRIDGE WITH A NEW UNIT!!!!
