My AC unit has gone out in the middle of winter, should I fix now or later?
Are you a pro and able to answer this question?

Depending upon whether it's your evaporator coil or the outside condenser unit it's best to wait until spring for repairs and when the likelihood of needing air conditioning is more valuable than using air conditioning in the winter which really isn't a common practice .
It's easier for the company to gather materials for a job in spring summer as well

Hello, because of the nature of cooling refrigerant pressures, central cooling systems cannot be properly checked or worked on in the winter time. We need approximately 15° C or above to safely run a compressor and do a pressure check of the refrigerant system. Therefore it is always best to service and test air-conditioning systems in the warmer weather.
Thank you,

For an air conditioner to be repaired properly an ambient temperature of at least 10-15c is required, in order to properly balance the refrigerant pressures for optimal cooling performance! For this reason the spring would be best in order to do a proper repair.

It is always best to wait until the temperatures are at minimum 15c+ for any "typical" AC repairs and or operations to ensure that the AC system will have the best opportunity to work at its prime.

Since it’s winter, whether you should repair the AC now or later depends on your setup. If your AC is part of a heat pump system, it’s important to repair it right away because it affects your heating. If you have a separate heating system and the AC isn’t needed right now, the repair can wait — but fixing it sooner can help prevent bigger issues and avoids the busy spring rush.
