Converting existing bed to hydraulic bed King Size

I would like to convert my existing bed to hydraulic bed for storage space. I see hydraulic lifts I can purchase online. Is it possible to hire a handyman to do the installation for me? My existing bed frame is wood with mattress just rest over a mattress board. Thanks

There are several ways to add storage under a bed. For example, there are Murphy Bed kits with hydraulic struts that allow the platform of the bed to rise completely vertically. I would recommend contacting a carpenter like myself to discuss your storage needs and then review options from there.

You can buy a hydraulic lift kit online and hire a handyman to install it. People do this all the time to turn a regular wooden bed into a storage-lift bed.
What to check first:
(1) your wood frame must be solid and have some weight (sometimes needs extra support),
(2) the kit must match your mattress weight, and
(3) the handyman should be comfortable installing hinges/pistons.
