Sump pump testing

Hi there typically if you have a sump pit attached to that pump, you can pour some water in there to activate the pump preferably above the float level for that pump a couple of inches of water should determine whether or not it’s working keep it plugged in when you are attempting it also check if the discharge line is not blocked off from the exterior!
