You will need to provide more information - several pictures suggested - to give anyone and idea of what you should do. Damage could mean something small to large.

Whether to repair or replace comes down to three main factors: the extent of the damage, the door’s overall condition, and how long you plan to stay in the home.
If the issue is minor and the door is relatively modern and still performing well, a repair can be a practical short-term solution. But if the door is older, drafty, or no longer energy efficient, putting money into repairs often just delays the inevitable.
A new entry door is a longer-term investment. You benefit from improved insulation, updated security features, and a clean, finished look, along with professional installation and warranty coverage. In many cases, homeowners find that replacement offers better value over time, especially when comfort and efficiency are part of the equation.

Hi there,
Thanks for reaching out — I’d be happy to help you assess the best path forward.
With entry doors, the right decision between repair and replacement usually comes down to a few key factors: the extent of the damage, the structural integrity of the door and frame, and how well the current setup is securing your home. In many cases, a precise repair can restore both function and appearance seamlessly. In others, a full replacement may be the smarter long-term investment — especially if security, alignment, or overall finish has been compromised.
What we typically recommend is a proper on-site evaluation so you’re not guessing or overspending unnecessarily. My approach is always to preserve and refine when possible, and only recommend replacement when it genuinely adds value, security, and longevity.
If you’d like, we can take a closer look and walk you through your options in a clear, no-pressure way — ensuring the end result not only functions perfectly but also complements the look and feel of your entryway.
Feel free to let me know a convenient time, and we can coordinate accordingly.
Best regards,
Northern craftsman locksmith

Well that depends on which part is damaged and how badly it is damaged. Let’s say it was breached badly and both the door and the jamb are damaged I would recommend complete replacement. However it as possible to just replace the jamb or just the door. Also the jamb can be plated and the door can be repaired if not too damaged. So with all that said, it really matters on how damaged it is. Hope that helps ya a bit. Cheers.

Whether you should repair or replace a damaged front entry door depends on the severity of the damage, the condition of the frame, and your long-term goals for security, energy efficiency, and curb appeal. Minor issues such as scratches, dents, hardware problems, misalignment, or worn weatherstripping can often be repaired cost-effectively. However, if the door is warped, rotting, rusted, drafty, or over 15–20 years old or if the frame is compromised- replacement is usually the better investment. A new, energy-efficient entry door enhances insulation, improves security, and boosts your home’s value and appearance.
