Hood range turning off randomly

annelaurence_chevalier 27/04/2026 - 9:27 AM

My kitchen hood is a Vesta VRH-TORONTO-30SS, about 4 years old. When I run it, it stops randomly after few minutes. I unplug it, wait 30-60s, replug and it restarts but stops again after few minutes. I checked the plug and it is fine. Any idea what could be wrong?

Likely causes are overheating protection triggering, a failing control board, or a worn-out motor. Grease buildup can also restrict airflow and overheat the unit. Check filters and vents first. If clean, the thermal cutoff, capacitor, or internal electronics may need repair or replacement by a technician

Its likely an internal issue with the hood, poor electrical contact from power supply or an issue in the controls. The unit most likely needs to be replaced. First get an electrician to check the plug to insure there's steady power supply before making the decision to replace the entire range hood.

That usually points to it overheating and tripping a safety shutoff. Most of the time it’s something simple like clogged filters or restricted airflow, so the fan can’t move air and it overheats, shuts off, cools down, then repeats. I’d start by cleaning the filters and checking the vent, and if that all looks fine it’s probably the motor or control board starting to go.
