Perhaps, for a straightforward bathroom vanity replacement, a skilled handyman can often handle the job, especially if it involves: * Removing and disposing of the old vanity * Disconnecting and reconnecting basic plumbing * Assembling the new vanity * Installing the vanity, sink, faucet, and drain connections That said, there are a few important considerations before deciding: * If plumbing shut-off valves are old, seized, or leaking, a licensed plumber may be needed. * If the new vanity size changes, there could be drywall, flooring, or plumbing modifications required. * If electrical changes are involved, such as relocating lighting or outlets, an electrician should be used. * Some vanities require countertop fabrication or specialty installation depending on the material. A handyman is usually appropriate when: * The new vanity is similar in size and layout * Plumbing locations remain the same * No permits or code upgrades are required For higher-end vanities, stone tops, custom plumbing fixtures, or homes with older plumbing, many homeowners prefer using a renovation company with licensed trades to reduce the risk of leaks or installation issues. One thing we commonly see during vanity replacements is hidden plumbing issues once the old cabinet is removed. Shut-off valves, supply lines, and drain connections sometimes need updating during installation. A good next step would be to: * Measure the existing vanity * Confirm whether plumbing locations stay the same * Take a few photos of the space and plumbing area From there, you can usually determine whether this is a handyman-level project or if licensed plumbing support should be included.

Yes handyman can do it change fixtures unless they have to move drain or waterlines. It can be done unless it is at same place.

Depends on the handyman. I think most handymen with a good track record could handle something like that. I would call a plumber if you have to make major changes.

If the handyman is an experienced plumber knowledgeable with the local building codes, then it should be fine; a plumber is the correct trade for the job.

Yes — for a straightforward vanity replacement, a qualified handyman is often the right person to hire, especially if the work involves: •Removing and disposing of the old vanity and fixtures •Assembling the new vanity •Installing the vanity, sink, faucet, and hardware •Reconnecting existing plumbing lines and drain connections •Minor touch-ups such as caulking or basic wall repair. That said, there are a few important caveats: •If plumbing needs to be relocated, new shutoff valves added, or pipes modified significantly, you may need a licensed plumber depending on local code requirements. •If electrical work is involved (for example, moving outlets or lighting), a licensed electrician should handle that portion. •Stone countertop fabrication or complex custom cabinetry may require a specialized contractor. When hiring, it’s a good idea to confirm that the person: •Has experience specifically with bathroom vanity installations Is insured. •Can handle disposal of the old unit •Will reconnect plumbing and test for leaks •Provides a clear quote covering labor, disposal, and any additional materials. For a standard “swap old vanity for new vanity in the same location” project, many homeowners successfully use an experienced handyman rather than hiring separate trades.
