Hello everyone. My name is Arnel. I earned a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology with a major in Electricity in 1986 in the Philippines. After graduation, I gained four years of experience working on an oil tanker ship as a Line Electrician, followed by two years as an industrial electrician in Abu Dhabi, UAE, and four years as a Maintenance Electrician in Saudi Arabia. In 1999, I decided to move to Edmonton, Canada, to join my wife. My first job here was as a housekeeper at the Royal Glenora Club, one of Edmonton’s most respected sports facilities. After a few months, my supervisor promoted me to the maintenance department after I successfully resolved an issue with the hot tub. I then enrolled in a Power Engineering course at NAIT, studying at night while working during the day. I worked in that role for over five years until our General Manager, Ralph Pullock, recommended me to the owner of an electrical company. I was immediately hired as an apprentice electrician. Over the next 15 years, I worked as an electrician in various sectors, including residential, commercial, and industrial projects. I also gained experience as a service technician, performing troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance.
