Trey was very professional and communicated all aspect of the job from initial consultation to completion, even out of scope aspects. If changes are required, he took the time to explain it, then seek permission to proceed. He is very punctual and delivered on the agreed upon completion time line. At the end of each workday, he thoroughly cleaned up the work area and anywhere that his work had impacted which was very professional. I would definitely use him again for any renovation I have and also would recommend him to any one I know who wants, quality work done without breaking the bank.

hired Paul about 3 years ago do do an inspection before a sale on a rental building. He was very knowledgeable in many areas including appliances, electrical, plumbing as well as gas furnaces and water heaters. Paul was also very knowledgeable in relation to building codes for apartments such as proper ceiling heights in basements as well as other aspects of the building codes. One 1 occasion he did an inspection and noticed the smell of gas which nobody in the place did including 2 other tenants in the basement apartments. I immediately called Enbridge and they came out right away. I honestly could not smell anything but when Enbrige came they detected leaking gas. The gas was turned off immediately. I was shocked and surprised by this due to the furnace just being installed 3 years prior. I was also very happy Paul smelt the gas to potentially save a catastrophic situation. We bought a home that needed significant work in order to fit our entire family comfortably and we wanted to turn the basement into a rentable apartment. We had never owned a home before and knew nothing about the type of work that was needed, nor did we know the regulations. VIP walked us through it all and made the whole process as painless as possible. They renovated a bathroom on the top floor. Added an en-suite bathroom to our master bedroom. Did the flooring, custom made stairs out of the flooring we chose, glass panes and oak bannisters. They took down the walls on the first floor creating a large open concept kitchen/dining room and living room area. They increased the windows and replaced one window with an exit from the dining room onto a deck in the back yard. They added a discreet powder room on the first floor and another one on the split level just below along with a hidden pocket door closet for the washer and dryer. They made an entire basement apartment, with a beautiful bright kitchen, a luxurious bathroom and bedroom. They installed larger windows to add more light, installed potlights and a separate exit. We could not be more pleased with their work. We have now rented out our inspected and approved basement apartment which they have designed in a way that it is completely independent of the rest of our home and feels like an entirely different property. All in all they renovated our entire home and turned our three bedroom, two bathroom, one powder room house into a spacious 5 bedroom, 3 full bathroom and 2 powder room home. The time they spent walking us through the process and being patient with us as we figured out what exactly we wanted, sometimes on the fly my family will always appreciate. The price they gave us was in line with what other companies charged but the care they showed when dealing with us and their attention to detail makes them worth much more. As you can tell my entire family likes the guys at VIP a lot and their work was impeccable. The hiring decision cannot be based solely on price. I understand that price is not, but I’ve been finding contractors quotations are so far out lately, seems as though they are quoting what they want in terms of income, not basing their numbers on what the job is they’re being asked to perform. It was so refreshing to receive a quick simple response to exactly what I ask for at a price that makes sense from the owners of Annex. No trying to finesse me into talking on the phone. I know those are part of getting a quotation but in this case believe me it’s absolutely super super straightforward. There really wasn’t a need for phone calls or multiple notes and all of that it was a quick simple question with all the information needed to provide a quote. Deroy to the rescue and saved the day! Deroy is a very professional and friendly master plumber who was very reasonably priced and understanding. I accidentally flushed part of the toilet brush down the toilet and wasn't able to fix the problem on my own. He came promptly within a couple of hours, after finishing another job. Deroy skillfully assessed the situation and used his professional judgment to remedy the problem. My toilet is now in working order and I am stress free. FR Plumbing was fast to respond, and had someone out to our house to evaluate the issue within the hour. Nick did a great job. He provided an honest evaluation and let us make an informed decision for the repair. He also made it so, if there are any issues that occur similar, he modified the pipe configuration so that we would be able to make the repair ourselves.
