    Bird removal from soffit

Brad (owner) and Cassandra showed on a Friday morning to our appointment on time and fully respected the current COVID situation. A bird had migrated in through our soffit. I was able to pinpoint the general location and they were able to discover the actual entry that the birds were using. The birds were not in sight, so the area was protected with wire mesh to prevent re-entry. Throughout Friday afternoon, I had noticed that there was still scratching noises on the metal soffit. This prompted me to have to call Gates Wildlife Control again on Friday night. Saturday morning, another associate (unfortunately I have forgotten his name) had arrived to check on my concerns. The black birds were unseen in the darkness of their entry location. So the associate opened up the soffit allowing much more light to enter the darkness, and while he was preparing to install a one-way door on the soffit, the second bird flew out. This call was warrantied under their work satisfaction policy, so I was not charged for them to come out once more. It has been around 3 weeks since the work was done, and the birds are no longer around. The entry location is over 2 stories tall. All three employees that I had met were friendly, professional, and keen. Gates Wildlife Control was also the only company that had provided free in-person quotes. Their "base" over the phone quote was the highest amount, but their actual price is comparative to their competition within my area.

Hi Diusee, you made my day! I love receiving reviews that highlight our willingness to quickly respond to situations that require our attention. Unfortunately this is not common practice in the wildlife industry and many companies practice the "one and done approach' to solving wildlife situations. Thank you for allowing us to humanely solve your bird problem. Brad Gates, B.Sc., Owner / President, HomeStars Best of Award Winner 2020, 2019, 2018, 2017, 2016, 2015.

    Birds nest in the attic

AAA Gates Wildlife gave us a very decent appointment, considering the high demand period. Brad and Sandra came and helped releasing the birds. They are very knowledgeable people, knowing what they are doing. They were extremely pleasant and professional. I highly recommend this company. Thank you for the great service.

Gates Wildlife to the rescue - The other company was for the birds

What a week this has been. Went with another wildlife company - very well rated in Burlington - THEY WERE TERRIBLE. Left birds trapped in our roof as well as a 2' x 2' sparrow nest under our soffits in the roof - After they said they had cleaned everything out. The owner of the 'other' company was extremely rude and unprofessional *read negative reviews of other companies carefully - the way in which they are responded to speaks volumes*. My husband called Gates - Chris and another nice fellow came over the next day and have been fantastic. They helped release the trapped birds and set up nice little temporary nesting for the parents to care for the babies until they are old enough to fly the proverbial coup. They will be returning over the next few weeks to monitor how things are going before they close everything off and secure to prevent other animals from entering. Honestly, day and night versus the other company. I was very upset yesterday and Gates has restored my confidence in humane wildlife control. :)

    Answer from pro:

Hello, thanks for your eye opening review. I am sorry you had such a terrible experience with the other company but I am glad Chris and Tyler were able to save the day! Brad Gates, B.Sc., Owner / President, HomeStars Best of Award Winner 2020, 2019, 2018, 2017, 2016, 2015.

    Squirrels removed from attic

We live in in townhouse, and we and several of our neighbours heard squirrels in the attic so we contacted AAA Gates Wildlife Control. Blake identified the point of entry and installed a one-way door. The next day we heard squealing on the roof and saw three squirrels attempting to get back in. ("Sorry, squirrels, no more luxury suites for you--it's time to camp in the nearby ravine!") Since then, all has been quiet. Our thanks to Blake who did an excellent job and was very pleasant, reliable and efficient. We highly recommend AAA Gates Wildlife Control!

    Answer from pro:

Hi Mary, I am glad Blake was able to send your squirrels packing. I am sure it is a lovely ravine! lol. Thank you for taking the time to compliment Blake on being "pleasant, reliable and efficient. Brad Gates, B.Sc., Owner / President, HomeStars Best of Award Winner 2020, 2019, 2018, 2017, 2016, 2015.

    Squirrels in attic space

5 star service! We called them due to a suspected squirrel nest in our soffit / attic space. Booking is handled well, and you get a reminder call about your appointment a day or so in advance of the appointment. Pricing is transparent and reasonable. Joel showed up right on time and was great to work with, and very knowledgeable. Highly recommend AAA Gate's Wildlife Control.

Gentle removal of Mrs. Fox and Family

Mrs. Fox and her family had made a home under our deck, in a remote inaccessible corner. Each day Mrs. Fox would kill a rabbit, or a squirrel, or a mouse or two, proudly displaying it in my yard. Her four babies played endlessly in my yard, and at night made bizarre noises which sounded like a cross between barking and babies' cries. So along came Blake from Gates Wildlife Control. He told me with confidence that we would be rid of the foxes soon. He installed wire screens with a one-way door, so not only would the foxes exit and not return, but no other wildlife could enter the deck area in the future. Blake was professional, courteous and completely in control of the situation, which was immensely helpful given the wildlife that had taken over my backyard.

    Answer from pro:

Hello, I love your description of what it was like to live with foxes in your backyard. It is totally understandable why they had to go, especially when you consider that all that cuteness comes with an animal cemetery. Thank you for complimenting Blake on a job well done. I am glad he made it possible for you to once again take ownership of your backyard. Brad Gates, B.Sc., Owner / President, HomeStars Best of Award Winner 2020, 2019, 2018, 2017, 2016, 2015.

He was very pleasant, polite and answered very patiently all my questions . He was not too concerned about the small hole but put the trap on the big one. The next day I heard movement and the small hole got bigger. called gates and Nick showed again and resolved my problem. Thank you Nick

    Raccoon removal

After hearing some alarming noises comeing from my attic, I contacted Gates Wildlife Control. They sent Jake to my home to assess the problem. He looked at the roof, the soffits and in my attic. Raccoons were in the soffits and luckily for me, not in the attic. Jake completed a detailed estimate on fixing the problem, repairing the damage the raccoons had done and some preventative work on my roof vents. I thought the estimate was affordable and Jake did all the work that day, plus installed a oneway door at the raccoon entrance. Later that night the raccoons left, and couldn't get back in. He came back in a couple of days to make sure all raccoons had left and then sealed off the entrance. Jake was very courteous and considerate of the social distancing caused by Covid-19. I would highly recommend this company.

    Answer from pro:

Hi L. Wright, thank you for your excellent review! Your description of how your job unfolded from beginning to end will help our future customers understand what to expect. I also really appreciate your kind words for Jake. Brad Gates, B.Sc., Owner / President, HomeStars Best of Award Winner 2020, 2019, 2018, 2017, 2016, 2015.

    Raccoon removal from soffit

We can’t thank Gates (and specifically Joel) for the fantastic service we received! We called and were able to have Joel come next day after witnessing a raccoon climb up our brick wall and through a hole in the soffit (that the raccoon created!). We’ve had various pest/wildlife issues since January, and within two weeks of that initial visit we were finally DONE! He came to our house at least five times over that two week period, entered our attic twice and eventually persevered to find and extract five babies and the mother raccoon from our roof. Everyone else we called gave up or told us we were probably stuck with them until they were big enough to leave. We are so relieved to finally have our house back!! The best part is that we were about to pay for a costly repair to the roof to fix the raccoon damage - Joel even took care of that! This is truly a one stop shop, and although it seems expensive at first glance, it’s absolutely worth every penny. Thank you!!!!

    Answer from pro:

Hello katwcheng, you touched on an important difference between us and our competition. We work hard to arrive at a solution regardless of how many visits it takes. I love your comment "We are so relieved to finally have our house back." It could be used as a slogan! "We get them out and give you your house back!" Thank you so much for your informative review and for your nice words for Joel. Brad Gates, B.Sc., Owner / President, HomeStars Best of Award Winner 2020, 2019, 2018, 2017, 2016, 2015.

    Raccoons in the Attic

Brad and Cassandra did a great job removing a very persistent Mom and her 5 babies. Brad quickly identified where she made her way in and patched it, added a one way door. About 1 hour day 1. If she did not yet have her babies then she would have ideally left on her own thru the one way door... but within 1 hour hour I heard the babies. Day 2 Brad and Cassandra were back exploring the attic and of course the area was inaccessible from the attic. They carefully cut thru the office cathedral ceiling and removed the 5 babies and put them safely out side in a heated box. Day 3 Mom took 3 babies away... unfortunately back into the attic over then master bedroom. Day 4 Brad and Cassandra now returned for the 4th time to bring the babies back out. Day 5 Mom had now pulled another soffit apart and had 4 of the babies hidden again in the attic. Cassandra again found them to keep the babies out and together. Week 2 they were back again a couple of times to attend to any areas we had concerns as the mom was actively looking for her babies. Thanks problem solved!

Hi LBH, Thank you for your play by play or should I say day by day report of how your job unfolded. Every now and then we run across a mother raccoon that is determined to stay in the house that it chose. It was truly a pleasure working with you and your husband and I totally understand if you don't want to see us again anytime soon. lol.
