    Raccoon damage repair to roof

Waking up to a leak caused by raccoons is not the best way to start Christmas Eve day but thankfully AAA Gates were able to send someone over quickly. Boris arrived and was able to suss out the situation and make some quick roof repairs to prevent the raccoons from making anymore damage as well as anymore water leaking into the house. Such a relief! Thanks so much.

    Raccoons in roof!!

The rep came early the next day & proceeded to encourage the critters to leave the attic--all done very humanely! Then he installed a one way door for the remaining one & secured any & all other entries with steel mesh ! He will be back next week to close it off The rep was very efficient & courteous & answer all & any questions we may have had Very pleased!!

    Answer from pro:

Hi trixiekerr, I love your comment, "proceeded to ENCOURAGE the critters to leave..", because that is exactly what we do, "encourage." Gates Wildlife is in the business of humane wildlife removal, meaning that every precaution is taken to ensure the animals are treated with respect and under our watch every precaution is taken so no harm will ever come to them. Thank you very much for taking the time to write your excellent review of my company. Happy New Year! Brad Gates, B.Sc. Owner / President - Awarded HomeStars Best Of 2015 & 2016

    Service

After procrastinating for 3 years we finally had Gates wildlife clean out the dryer vents and cap them off to keep the nests out. I am so glad they recommended doing the other 2 cents while they were here... I was set on o lay doing one but I'm so glad we got all 3 done. Nick was so professional and courteous -- and I'm so greatful that it's another one I can cross off the list. He did a fantastic job, the covers work great and the cleanup made it look like nobody had even been there! Thanks again!!

    Answer from pro:

Hi alana3, it is always better late then never. Statistics show that clogged dryer vents are the number one cause of house fires. Therefore, by having the nests removed you may have prevented a fire. Be sure to keep an eye on the dryer vent screen to ensure it does not get clogged with lint. I really appreciate you mentioning that the "cleanup made it look like nobody had even been there!" Thank you very much for your review and for complimenting Nick. Happy New Year! Brad Gates, B.Sc. Wildlife assessment

Boris showed up to assess an issue we thought we had with squirrels in the attic. While he was not able to go up onto the 2.5 story roof given the ice and snow conditions and the 60 degree pitch, he spent a good amount of time in the attic. He advised that there were no signs of wildlife and the vents were in tact. The noises I was hearing could have been from the outside as there were tracks in the snow on the roof. He was polite and suggested I monitor and call back should there be a need. There was no charge! Would definitely call back; hopefully I won't have to

    Answer from pro:

Hi Private User, while snow on the roof can be helpful in identifying certain animal problems it can also hinder our ability to do a thorough exterior inspection. Fortunately an inspection of the attic often yields evidence of animal activity as well. Thank you for your review and if you need to call us back we will be happy to help. Brad Gates, B.Sc. Wildlife Removal

I had wildlife (raccoons) get their way into my roof on inside. Chris was very friendly and explained to me what work needed to be done to get ride of rhe wildlife and secure the area until spring when roof will be changed. Thanks!!!!!

    Answer from pro:

Hi angierehal, I really appreciate you taking the time to write a review and for complimenting Chris. It is not uncommon for animals to target a roof that is at the end of its life span. Sometimes the roof board becomes weaker as the shingles start to fail, which makes it easier for the animals to enter. Thanks for allowing us to humanely solve your wildlife problem.
