    Squirrels in Attic

Hello Brad, Impressive. That's how I would describe my experience with your company so far. I only checked your website Thursday evening and filled out the estimate request form. Minutes later I received a call from an employee of yours who arranged for someone (Blake) to come out the next morning and check out my squirrel-in-the-attic situation. He arrived (while I was at work), determined where the squirrels had gained access to my attic and called to inform me. I gave Blake the OK to go ahead with the work he recommended. When I got home later I found that all five roof vents were screened and the squirrels were outside, as far as I could tell. Good Work.

    Squirrels in Shed

We discovered that squirrels had made a nice little home in our backyard shed. After searching on HomeStars, my first choice was to call AAA Gates' Wildlife Control (they also came highly recommended by the City of Brampton-I called them to see what to do at first). I set up an appointment for the next day, and Justin arrived on time to assess the situation. Luckily, the squirrels were not in the shed at the time, so he was able to put screens up over holes they had made and other possible entry areas of the shed. We were glad that Justin was able to repair the damage the squirrels had done and prevent them from entering our shed again. I was so impressed with not only the quality of work from Justin, but how personable he was. I have not experienced such wonderful customer service like this - from start to finish, Justin was professional, had a great sense of humour, and was honest. He even helped me remove everything from my shed, sweep out the mess the squirrels made with my top soil, and helped me put everything back and organized! I was not expecting this - such a great help. I highly recommend this company! Thank you Justin!

    Answer from pro:

    No Charge Inspection

“I was pleasantly surprised by Boris the serviceman checking out unit 75 regarding possible rodents on the roof or in the attic. He came the next day and after an inspection he reported no activity evident and the owner was also satisfied. Kudos to your company and Boris for the no charge inspection. I certainly would recommend your company . Regards, Axel”

    Answer from pro:

Hi Axel, thank you for your review and for commenting on our "no charge inspection". Most companies in our industry charge for the on-site inspection. At Gates Wildlife we only charge if we are hired to do the work and if we determine that a wildlife problem does not exist, the inspection is completely free. Thank you in advance for any future referrals. Brad Gates, B.Sc. Owner / President

    Critter Control

Twice now...once for racoons in a 3 house area (+$550) and once for squirrels (-$400), Gates Wildlife has come to the rescue. First Boris and then Nick worked to keep the critters out of our attic, but not before making sure they were gone and not trapped there. Love the slogan "The Animal's Choice". Haven't asked them directly but I believe its true! Thanks Gates

    Answer from pro:

Hello, thank you for your loyalty in choosing Gates Willdife not just once but twice. You touch on a critical aspect of our service that does make us "The Animal's Choice" and that is our commitment to follow-up on each and every job to ensure all the animals are out before permanently securing the entry hole. I love your comment "Haven't asked them directly but I believe its true." We also believe it to be true that if the animals were given the choice they would choose the Gates Wildlife humane approach. Thank you for your great review! Brad Gates, B.Sc. Owner / President

    Amazing

There was a scratching sound in my ceiling. Tony came out on the day we arranged and he was early. He gave a thorough inspection and shared that it wasn't a squirrel problem as I'd thought. He recommended how to deal with the problem in a very thorough and complete manner. On top of that, there was no charge as they felt it was only an assessment they provided. Amazing service and one I'd highly recommend. Well done Gates, well done.

    Answer from pro:

Hi Adam, the most common reason our customers call us in the first place is because they are hearing noise in the ceiling or walls of the house. It is often difficult to diagnose a given problem over the phone and that is why we offer a free on-site inspection in order to properly identify the cause of the noise. In your specific case a few suggestions were all you needed. Thank you for your review and for any future referrals. Brad Gates, B.Sc. Owner / President

    Wildlife Control

I used Gates previously when I had a bird problem so it was natural that I call them when I thought a squirrel/raccoon problem. They did a through inspection and let me know that I had no problem and help put my mind at ease. I would definitely call them if you have any concerns with wildlife problems. You will be glad you did.

    Answer from pro:

We take pride in offering an honest service and do enjoy seeing the relief on our customers face when we tell them "you don't have a wildlife problem." While even though we don't always have the chance to provide service, our goal is to build trust so our customers feel confident in recommending us to family and friends. Thank you for your review. Animal control

We have occasionally heard a small animal scratching beneath the floorboards. Two days after my call, a technician arrived as scheduled; a complete inspection was made of the outside and roof areas; we were informed that there were no access points visible, and the animal was likely a mouse travelling via heat ducts. Very pleased with service; will certainly recommend Gates Wildlife.

    Answer from pro:

Hi Kendon, as you found out noises in the attic or walls of the house can be caused by a number of different animals. Usually only after a detailed inspection of the house in question can the species be identified. In your case with no entry holes on the roof and the specific location of the activity we were able to determine it was mice. Thank you for taking time to write a review and for any future referrals. 3 Racoons removed from old chimney

We had 3 racoons living behind our walls in an old chimney. We could hear them and wanted to get them removed as safely as possible. The racoons had also caused lot of damage in our top deck (from where they used to enter their home in our old chimney). We had tried every trick in the book - but the damage and noise continued. Then we called AAA gates and Joel was assigned to our project. He was extremely efficient and so quick! Not only did he make our top deck look like new, he also removed all 3 racoons without without any issue. Some of the work he did was when we were not even home! For something that had bothered us for over 4 months - he made sure everything was taken care of under 2 hours. We were very impressed and it has been 2 months since our service and the racoons have not bothered us at all. Our home is now, finally, raccoon free. Thank you. Niyati (Beaches, Toronto)

    Answer from pro:

Hi Niyati, it is unfortunate that you had to live with your raccoon problem for 4 months. You are not alone, many of our customers are hopeful that the animals will move out on their own and but it rarely happens. Thank you for taking the time to compliment Joel for solving your raccoon situation in an efficient manner. Brad Gates, B.Sc. Owner / President

    Raccoon in Attic

After hearing the running noise in the nights, I looked up my trusted home improvement website, HomeStars, and called AAA Gates Wildlife Control. Tony came. He spotted the entry point right away. After checking for other entry points and weak points, he explained what needed to be done and the breakdown of the costs. Out of caution, besides dealing with the entry point, I also go for the options to screen off all roof vents as well. Seeing that I still worried a lot about the attic, Tony also offered to take a look at the attic to put my mind at ease. In the evening, the raccoon left through the gate set up by Tony as expected. Then Tony came back a few days later to remove the gate, screen off the entry point and deodorize the area to prevent other raccoon to enter the attic. Tony was professional and he was very pleasant to deal with. He patiently answered our questions and set the right expectations. We will definitely recommend AAA Gates Wildlife Control if anyone looks for help with wildlife control.

It is extremely important to us that our customers are kept informed about how the job will unfold, what to expect during the process and how the job is progressing. Raccoon in Attic

My problem was a raccoon in my attic. I called AAA Gates Wildlife Control and their service from beginning to end was excellent. The raccoon had gained entry from a roof vent. A day earlier my neighbour had advised me that a roof vent was slightly pried open (assumed it was the wind) and I promptly climbed up and pushed down the cover. That night (and all night), there was nervous pacing on both sides of the second floor bedroom ceiling. First thing in the morning I called AAA Gates WC, and fortunately Chris was able to arrive within an hour. Chris was very friendly, knowledgeable and competent. He assessed the situation (actually first tried to shoo it away but without success), provided recommendations, a written estimate, and efficiently completed the work which included securing all the vents with screens, except the entry vent where a one-way door was temporarily installed complete with a makeshift ladder for the raccoon to more easily climb out. Early that night the raccoon exited the attic. A day later, Chris returned to secure the last vent. I was very pleased with the work done by Chris and AAA Gates Control. The approach and humane methods they employ are efficient and effective. I will definitely call them again if necessary and I highly recommend them. PS. It is amazing how easily raccoons can remove roof vent covers (even without damaging them); I would recommend that you have them secured permanently if raccoons are near your property.

    Answer from pro:

Hi Gino, WOW! What a thoughtful review. Thank you for mentioning how vulnerable roof vents can be on a home. Unfortunately, not too many people call us to secure their roof vents prior to having an animal problem. I also appreciate the time you took to explain in detail how the job unfolded and for praising Chris for a job well done. I am glad we were able to help out in such a timely fashion.
