    Raccoon Removal and Damage Repair

We had raccoon(s) in our attic that had broken in through vulnerable area(s) in the soffit/roof. I had spoken to Peter on the phone and he came by and provided a free estimate and also worked out a good deal for me to have this problem solved once and for all (as I had several potential entry points) . Peter and the AAA Gates company were very professional and I am happy with the work they performed. I think my home should be raccoon proof from now, so I don't have to hear noises in the wall at night! I would def recommend this company if you are in need of wildlife control/removal. --> EDIT by NP: Changed to 10 stars, not sure why it was 9 (might have been a misclick. Cheers!)

    Answer from pro:

Hi NP, thank you for your detailed review and for complimenting Peter. I am also glad we were able to make the work affordable for you. While we always strive for a 10 / 10, I did notice that you gave us a 9 / 10. If there is something we could have done differently to have attained a 10, please send me an email at bradgates@gateswidlifecontrol.com. Thank you in advance for any future referrals. Raccoon problem

We had Tony come to our house due to damage that was done by wildlife. Tony was on time, and very courteous. He did a thorough investigation and noticed many clues that we did not. Tony believed that a raccoon had become trapped in our garage, and after being unable to find a way to escape proceeded to chew its way through, and along the soffit until it finally fell through. Tony told us what to do to prove that it was gone, and offered to come back if it was not. He has a passion for his job. Gates offers inspections free of charge, unlike the competition.

    Answer from pro:

Hi Shorn, thank you for taking the time to compliment Tony and for pointing out that we provide "inspections free of charge". As in your case, wildlife situations cannot be diagnosed over the phone and therefore we offer an on-site extimate to determine what exactly is going on, at no cost to our customers. Gates' Wildlife Control

I contacted AAA Gates' Wildlife Control to have a bird nest removed. Peter provided an awesome service. He was very courteous, knowledgeable and honest. He went way beyond what was required. He checked an area on the roof which was done by another company which was not done right and fixed the problem as well as nailed a couple of fixtures without any extra charge. I highly recommend AAA Gates' Wildlife Control.

    Answer from pro:

Remove birds from wall and block further entry

After moving into our 9-year old house, we noticed 4 gaps in a wall where the bricks met the soffit. Chris from Gates Wildlife arrived on time, sized up the problem, and also did a complete 360 survey of the house to look for any other points of entry. He provided some info on the type of birds I had, and assured me that this was a good time of year to expel them. He disassembled the soffit to ensure he got 100% of the stuff that had accumulated over 9 years, and then sealed everything up tight, all for a reasonable price. I was very happy with the job.

    Answer from pro:

Hi Raeid, thank you for your detailed description of the service you received from Chris. In the field of wildlife control it is important to inspect the entire structure for potential entry points and not only look at the area where the animal is entering. By doing a complete inspection and offering animal proofing for these areas, we can provide a long-term solution to our customers and ensure your 100% satisfaction. Brad Gates, B.Sc. Skunk Removal Underneath Shed

A quick note to thank you for the services that you provided at our home in Toronto. It took a long six weeks, but we finally got them all out. A very special thanks to Dan for is diligent work, and his many many visits to make sure that we got the buggers out.

    Answer from pro:

Hi N, thank you for taking the time to write a review and for complimenting Dan. As you experienced, during the skunk birthing season it is sometimes next to impossible to access the babies when the nest is located deep under a structure. The humane solution is to let the mother continue to raise the babies until they are old enough to exit the den on their own (hence the many visits to verify if the babies are old enough to leave the den). When the young are foraging with their mother a one-way-door can be installed to allow them to exit and prevent them from getting back in. Thank you for your patience and for letting us solve your skunk problem humanely. Brad Gates, B.Sc. Owner / President

    Squirrel Removal

There has been noises of squirrel in the attic for a month now, disrupting sleep in the master bedroom. Noises of squirrel running around the attic would wake us up at 6am or sometimes 3 am. Brad came with a helper and discovered '3 problem areas' which costs $35 each to resolve by putting metal nets on the marley roof. He then put a trap where he thought the squirrel would exit. He also went inside the attic and checked for holes - which he said there were none. 2 days later, Brad took down the one way trap and sealed the hole, but the noise was still present. I emailed him and he says to get mouse baits and throw them all around the attic - which I did. The noise was still present and I called his company to ask Brad to come by and check for other holes. Brad comes by in the morning, then leaves in less than 10 minutes - emails me and says there were no new holes he could see from the outside perimeter and then states that it takes up to a month for the bait to work.. I called his company and the person answering the phone tells me to buy a squirrel trap and put it inside the attic. Overall, Brad is very nice at first, but his follow-up and thoroughness is lacking. This experience has cost me $565 given to him. Although the contract says a 1 year guarantee, it is only as good as the person doing the work. I had to use another company and forked out another $650 - which they caught the squirrel and sealed off multiple holes inside the attic. This company appears professional and has many good reviews - perhaps for larger pests. For smaller pests like squirrels, perhaps another company. If AAA Gates Wildlife Control refunds my money - I would greatly appreciate it. Brad, the owner called and followed up. He was very apologetic and promised to refund the money as his money-back guarantee. He is a man of his word and he made the best out of an unideal situation.

    Answer from pro:

Hi Michael, I am so sorry that I was unable to solve your squirrel problem. Having not heard from you after my last visit, I was under the impression that I had removed them. I have attempted to contact you by phone and email to make arrangements to refund your money. My company does offer a money back guarantee should a customer not be satisfied with our service. Please call me at your earliest convenience so I can get you your full refund. Brad Gates, B.Sc. Owner / President
